When I import video files in Premiere 2025, Premiere Pro automatically creates a sequence from them. Very annoying because I'm either already working in a sequence or I want to create a sequence with settings different from the files being imported. How can I turn off this option? I can't find it in the preferences.

Hello @RetiredAdventureRider It sounds like you're having an annoying issue with Premiere Pro 2025 automatically creating a sequence when you import video files. Unfortunately, there isn't a preference setting to turn this off directly, but there are some ways to work around it and keep things under control. Here’s what you can try: ### Option 1: Import Through the Project Panel Instead of dragging your video files straight onto the timeline (which is what triggers Premiere to automatically make a sequence), import them using the **Project Panel**: - Right-click in the Project Panel and select **"Import"**, or use **File > Import** from the top menu. - This way, your files will just be added to the Project Panel without creating a sequence. ### Option 2: Use the Source Monitor If you want to preview your clips before putting them into a sequence: - Drag the files from the Project Panel to the **Source Monitor**. - You can then view, trim, and decide what parts you want to add to an existing sequence, without having Premiere create a new one automatically. ### Option 3: Create a Sequence Manually First If you prefer setting up a sequence with specific settings before adding any media: 1. Go to **File > New > Sequence** (or hit `Ctrl + N`/`Cmd + N`). 2. Set up your desired frame size, frame rate, and other sequence options. 3. Then drag your clips from the Project Panel onto your manually created sequence. ### Option 4: Change Sequence Settings If One Gets Created If a sequence does get created automatically and you need different settings: 1. **Right-click** on the sequence in the Project Panel. 2. Choose **"Sequence Settings"** and adjust as needed. These tips should help you avoid the automatic sequence creation, or at least make it easier to adjust when it happens. Hope that makes your editing flow a little smoother! Let me know if you have any other questions or need more help. 😊

how do i open multiple videos in seperate Sequences ?
@LearnWithPaulNene
@LearnWithPaulNene 5 күн бұрын
Hey @Whyistheworldworkingasitisnow! Great question! Opening multiple videos in separate sequences in Adobe Premiere Pro is quite straightforward. Here’s a detailed step-by-step guide to help you out: First, import the videos you want to work with. You can do this by going to the Media Browser or pressing Ctrl+I (Cmd+I on Mac) to open the import dialog. Select all the video files you want to import and click Open. Once the videos are imported, go to the Project panel where your imported files are displayed. Right-click on the first video and choose "New Sequence from Clip." This will automatically create a new sequence with the same settings as your video. Repeat this step for each of the videos you imported. Each time you do this, Premiere Pro will create a new sequence for that specific video. To keep everything organized, you can rename each sequence. Just right-click on the sequence name in the Project panel and select "Rename." Give each sequence a name that helps you identify the video it's associated with. To open the sequences in the Timeline panel, double-click each sequence from the Project panel. You will notice each sequence will appear as a tab within the Timeline panel, allowing you to easily switch between them. If you have multiple sequences open, you can simply click on the different tabs in the Timeline panel to switch between them. If you want to see multiple sequences at once, you can drag the tabs to different positions in the Timeline panel to rearrange them. This way, you can view more than one sequence at the same time. That’s it! Now, you have multiple videos open in separate sequences, and you can edit each one independently. If you need to combine the sequences later, you can simply drag one sequence into another, treating it as a clip. Let me know if you need further help or have more questions!

How do I get rid of the folders???? I want to drag and drop stuff into the media browser, I don't know why it changed to this folder system, it's extremely infuriating.
@LearnWithPaulNene
@LearnWithPaulNene 6 ай бұрын
I understand how frustrating it can be when things don't work as expected in Adobe Premiere Pro. I've been there before, how about Let's try this step by step together.. 1. Open Adobe Premiere Pro: Launch the software on your computer. 2. Navigate to the Media Browser: Locate the Media Browser panel in Premiere Pro. You can usually find it in the lower-left corner of the interface. 3. Adjust the View Options: In the Media Browser panel, look for options to adjust the view. You might see icons or buttons that allow you to switch between different view modes. 4. Switch to List View: If you're seeing folders and want to switch to a different view, look for an option to switch to list view or another view mode that allows for easier drag-and-drop functionality. 5. Explore Preferences: Sometimes, changes in the layout or functionality can be due to settings or preferences. Go to the Preferences menu in Adobe Premiere Pro and explore the settings related to the Media Browser or file management. 6. Reset Workspace: If the issue persists, you can try resetting the workspace in Adobe Premiere Pro. This can often resolve layout or display issues. Go to the Window menu and select "Workspaces," then choose "Reset to Saved Layout." 7. Check for Updates: Ensure that your Adobe Premiere Pro software is up to date. Sometimes, software updates include bug fixes or improvements that can address issues like this. 8. Seek Further Assistance: If you're still unable to resolve the problem, consider reaching out to Adobe Support or consulting online forums and communities for additional help and troubleshooting tips. I hope these steps help you resolve the issue and improve your experience with Adobe Premiere Pro! If you need further assistance, feel free to ask. 🙂

In Grass Valley Edius, the editor can select all the reference files in the 'Media Browser' and create one long reference as to streamline from double clicking on every thumbnail for selecting IN and OUT points. Does such a feature exist in Pr? Thanks in advance.
@LearnWithPaulNene
@LearnWithPaulNene 6 күн бұрын
Hi @Penguins_Cant_Fly! 👋 Thanks for your comment! In Adobe Premiere Pro, there isn't a direct feature like that for creating a long reference file from the Media Browser. However, you can use the Media Browser to select multiple clips and then drag them into your timeline, which can save you some time. You can also set In and Out points by using the keyboard shortcuts "I" for In and "O" for Out after selecting the clips. I hope this helps! If you have more questions, feel free to ask. Happy editing! 🎬😊

Sorry a little off topic but you seem to be the best person to ask. I need to see the volume/db of videos/music. I sleep at night or studying and the next track is either to loud or too quiet. I want to filter out the bad volume treks/file and throw them away or put them in a folder for latter to edit. What program do you suggest I use to display the volume/db ranges of a track('s)/file ?
@LearnWithPaulNene
@LearnWithPaulNene 9 ай бұрын
Hello @frankenstein3163 No worries! For checking the volume/DB of audio tracks, you can use software like Audacity or Adobe Audition. Both programs provide a visual representation of the audio waveform, making it easy to identify volume levels. 1. Audacity: - Open your audio file in Audacity. - Use the "Amplify" effect to see and adjust volume levels. 2. Adobe Audition: - Open your audio file in Audition. - Navigate to the "Multitrack" view and use the "Amplitude Statistics" panel. These tools allow you to visualize and analyze volume levels, helping you filter out tracks based on your preferences. Give them a try and see which one works best for you! 🎧🔍. If you have any follow-up questions or need more assistance, feel free to ask. I'm here to help you. 🎶🚀
