Its true I never saw the car before hand I was asked for a quote on a radiator replacement. I went and did so then when I went to start it to move to a flat area to burp out the air bubbles that's what happened. SO im sure some of you will ask well why did you not check it out to start with. 1st i was never asked to 2nd i would have had to add coolant to the system to start with there was none in there. I would have had to then drain the coolant and if it was originally contaminated by something it would be a waisted chemical. So would cost more to get more , more time to go get and then IF it was a warped head just not this bad the engine would need to be warmed up to 200 plus degrees to diagnose it first. Then I would get to replace the radiator when the engine is scolding hot. All of this in the time frame to which I was only going to be paid to just replace a radiator. I do simple checks like if i see a hole in the side of the engine yeah you dont need an oil change lol or if the battery cables are gone for a no start this would need to be addressed first before doing anything else. What it boils down to is When a customer askes for a job I do as asked, Unless its just something that does not sound right common sense ya know? If a customer wants me to figure out the issue I charge for a diagnostic then give a quote for the issue. The ones that gets into issues is when im asked to do something and it does not correct there issue and i will get blamed sometimes I say Im not the one that told you this is what you needed you need to be mad at them not me. This video is a prime example of the last comment.

In my 92 f150 with the efi 4.9 inline 6 I suspected a cracked head for 20,000 miles of eating small amounts of coolant and squeaky plugs. It pushed coolant out of the cap mid February towing a heavy load so I did fan clutch, rad cap and overflow tank. It continued to overheat somewhat but not push fluid and level out at the top of "normal" for 2 weeks of driving it around 400 miles a week then it went back to the low normal for 4 months until I pulled another stupid heavy load(8,000#) and cracked the ceramic off a plug that got absorbed into the piston. It still started and ran when I pulled it but it had 3 cracks valve to ring on the head
