This was the very first music video I saw in my life. I remember being confused 'is this a movie?! what kind of movie is THIS?! Is it a commercial? I don't get it!'...still holds up fantastically. So mysterious and beautiful.

I remember seeing this in 1979 on tv, before much music, even my mom liked it. It was a cool song. The woman is from Big Bay, Georgian Bay, Owen Sound area.

I grew up on this song here in Canada during the 2000s till this day at almost 27 years old. As far as I can remember musical memories most 1980s Canadian songs are just second nature to me.

Oh some songs take us right back. Wow. For me, i was just a kid starting to wake up to the world around me. On the cusp of puberty. Saw the band in a smaller but packed venue (250 people perhaps)a few years ago- twice. Edelweiss/Kitchener, Ontario. Just as fabulous. Personable on stage. Very enjoyable. They switched up the music. Lively. Lead singer lives 45 minutes to an hour away in the suburbs. I think there was a funny story told about how his neighbour has no idea who he is. He just thinks he does a little bit of gigging on the weekend ha ha ha. !😁 He was quite modest telling the story too. But smiling! If you get a chance to see them , do it!

My take on the lyrics, which I don't see discussed much in the internet generation. How to bring a little of the beautiful, the inspired, the divine, into your everyday lives. Trying to teach subsequent generations how to do the same, but all the while with the knowledge that your children are not your own, and they may not feel similarly reflective about paying certain customs forward to subsequent generations. Living with the self-delusion that we too, will not decay and die. Is it up to the "architects", or is the responsibility down to every one of us? How can we be remembered, and how important is it to be remembered by more than just those who knew us personally? The light of the "nova" isn't new after all, it pre-dates all of us. But in a 4-minute upbeat synth-pop song.
