To your point the one "why" that helped me to not get hung up on why and pick up and play was why the tuning of the guitar is so seemingly unintuitive: to make good sounds fit under your fingers

Not only that but you can always change tunings to fit your needs. I keep mine in standard for teaching purposes but there's so many different ways you could tune to make things easier to play.

A bit of constructive criticism. Maybe front load the content a bit more and leave the promotion for later in the video. I'm over a minute in and I still don't know what the video is actually about. I haven't learned anything. All I've heard about is your brand.

@@evansmith2175you don’t have to make content to know what bad content is like. I’m more concerned with audio and video quality. I have no idea how to film. But i can tell if its done poorly. You aint gotta be a chef to know a sandwich doesn’t taste good.

Well, I might argue that the Phrygian scale has a rather overstated resolution, just backwards, bc of the minor 2nd acting as a lead tone, if you're going down the scale. Thinking in full and have steps, the Phrygian scale is essentially a major scale backwards B A G FE D CB

Dude - you are doing a service. I checked out the course and the day 1 lesson is something that I have never seen in 30 years. I know how to play the major scale on 1 string, but for whatever reason I never thought of putting it together like that and trying to make a solo with the scales on 1 string. I will report back after I have finished the course, but I have always had trouble with putting everything together. I think this may be the type of explanation I need. Appreciate your candor with what you suck at, but don't let that take away from the fact that you have a practical way to explain a very obscure concept. Thanks for that! wish I had found your channel sooner.

When I post part 3 of this series, which may be a few weeks 'cause I got some other videos I'm working on ... I will move from the G minor to the A minor (if I remember) and also add some more to these shapes. I started everything in G since it gives me more room to move on the fretboard, but I know a lot of people like A.
