I like PD stuff allot. Not sure about this for versatility in fitting the fatter lenses. I mainly use Think Tank Lens Changers and they work very well even for the fat lenses.

So if I have a 600mm lens, I have to find somewhere where I can get 30 metres of flat ground to set up the target at one end and the camera/tripod at the other. How accurate is a QR target going to be at 30 metres?

I came here from your review of a camera strap and plate, where I also commented. I just want to say here that you are an amazing wedding photographer. You capture 'the moments' but with the feeling of 'not as a pose or a rehearsed setup'. You blend the drama and fun as if it's actually happening as I look at them. Best wishes for you on a continued great career!

Excellent real world use case follow up. First off, your hair style looks so much better now, 5 stars! lol Second, it's really good of you to come back with this update so long after, say how many times you use it, point out some minor deviations, but still believe in the product. I ordered both (the strap and an arca swiss compatible plate with ends for the dongles) based on your reviews!

Haha thanks x2! :) Hope you like the strap. Still going strong here!

I have a few of these for my Fuji glass I must say the build quality is great when they fit but seldom do they fit well. They should have made more sizes. They are good for holding other equipment too though. I have used my medium as a case for the Zoom H5 recorder. I had a bit of a fad on Peak Design but I kind of find the stuff always misses the mark and seems to never quite fit my gear. I feel like they made them and then realised they had bit off more than they could chew with the amount of variables in the lens market. I do like the Shimoda gear which is very good quality and lighter weight. Well worth looking at their bags..

Thanks for video. Look between this lens and RF 70-200mm 2.8. Already have 100L EF. Need ultra bokeh (85 1.4 = 135/2 = 200 2.8) or versality. 135 too far(
@monetmine Жыл бұрын
Depends on what you need it for? If for weddings I would go for 70-200. I love the 85mm more than 135, I do feel it's too far.

Great video! I've been shooting on Canon DSLR's for many years (currently 5Ds). One feature that these new mirrorless bodies offers is eye-tracking auto focus. I would love to have this feature for shallow depth of field portraits, especially in situations where movement is happening like an outdoor or on-location shoot. I think I will pickup an R6 for this feature only (and video) and continue to use my 5Ds for any work that needs high resolution images.
@monetmine2 жыл бұрын
Yea good plan. OR you could sell the 5ds and get an R5. :) But I don't know if your budget would allow it. Once you get spoiled by the mirrorless AF, it's hard to go back to dSLR. :)

As always a very well made informative video!! It was your review of 85mm 1.4 EF lens that made me purchase it about 2 years back. And now I use that lens on my R5.....the R5 85mm lens seems like a spectacular lens although I doubt i can afford it. So will have to continue with my 85mm 1.4!! Keep making videos and please keep sharing your wedding work more with all of us. Your wedding work is phenomenal and it's a Shame that we get to see so little of it.
@monetmine2 жыл бұрын
Hey man, thanks so much! The 85mm 1.4 is still a great lens! My wife still uses it too, but she uses the 70-200 2.8 more, so that's OK. :) Yea it's very very expensive, I know. :) And it's only a small percentage matter, so I can totally understand you for sticking with the 1.4. :) Haha I know I've not been posting much :P Been busy with all the weddings :)
@monetmine2 жыл бұрын
I also must be honest. It is hard to stay motivated for KZbin. The video's that get the most views are gear review video's. I also tried making more informative/inspirational video's, but they get a few hundred views. While review video's get ten thousands views easily :S It's kind of silly :)
@monetmine2 жыл бұрын
p.s. the reason we still have the 85mm 1.4 is because my wife still uses it sometimes :) p.p.s I forgot to mention the old 85mm has IS which the new one does not. Doesn't matter too much with the in-body IS of the R5/R6, but good to know. :)

Hello! i want to ask about the padding inside of the strap. Is it really padded and comfortable to use even with 70-200 lens? Thankyou!

Hi! The strap is not padded, but because of the material it is still comfortable to use with larger lenses.

Very good review my friend. I was trying to make a choice between these two and this video really helped. The R5 has options that I don't really need 8K for one and the two different memory cards doesn't make sense. I'm just starting a real estate video/photography business, so the R6 looks like the best choice for me now. Thank you.

Owning both bodies myself for photography specifically, I completely agree. The R5 does have more resolution, but there are trade offs. When it comes to image quality, it's very difficult to tell the difference. I have actually caught myself shooting with the R6 thinking it was the R5 😆. Since I already purchased the R5 I will keep it and use it for the use cases you mention, but in hind sight the R6 is all the camera that I need. The conversation changes with video, but I rarely shoot video.
