Tipsey hung on until January of this year, maybe she's there with you. I love those roads in western Carolina. My parents moved to Georgia from Morganton a couple of years before I was born. Western Carolina is where we went every year on vacation. A cousin, two months and two days older than I am, is Wild Bill at Foothills Radio, KICKS 103.3 FM. I'm sure you'll sleep much better tonight know that. ROFL Thank you for posting this.

Morganton, Lenoir, and Asheville were where we went EVERY year on vacation. I now live in the foothills of north Ga. I still love NC. Have you ever been to Steele CreekPark? Man! That water is cold even on the hottest summer day!

Pretty cool! I live in North Georgia, but LOVE Western Carolina. My Daddy was from Morganton and my Mama from Lenoir, with an uncle in Asheville running a dairy. Until the mid-70's, those were the only places I had visited and have GREAT memories. Thank you for sharing. <3

That porch reminds me of going WNC every year to visit kin folk from '55 - 70's. An uncle worked a dairy and lived in a two-story weatherboard house with a great front porch like this one. Of course, there was no railing around his porch and it was a few feet off the ground. I love WNC. I grew up in north, metro Atlanta and now live in the foothills of NW Ga. Thank you for sharing this. Oh, this uncle lived in Asheville, actually Lester (Liecester).
