I was thinking to get this to use in order to capture my songs from my synths to make a “live mixdown” and arrange on the fly. I dont have an audio interface with 8 ins so im recording each track one by one to day which is fine. but thought to try and arrange live to capture my gears timing and on the fly moves. Would this be a good idea? Im recording 16bit anyway to capture the 90s feel.

Julius on the xylo. Am trying to find one of the "Bullish" concerts in the 80's. One was done in Maryland at Mariwether Post Pavillion and all I found in archives was every concert around it, but not THAT one.

Love this. Herb Alpert songs are my most requested when I play live. He is the instrument, his horn is simply the amplifier.

I bought my first one new in 1997 /98 when they first came out . Then in 2008 I bought a used one to midi them up as one . I loved mine even though I’ve put them to bed for now. I bought a used VS 2480 and it’s my main recorder !!

What a gem indeed! Thanks for who found this video. The sound is great. I've seen Herb Alpert in concert and he and Lani talk and play a little bit. Not like this concert in Germany!

@@matetonkovic9139 Absolutely. I used to listen to his albums as a small child around 1970. I thought his trumpet was talking to me. His tone and phrasing was unique.

I first heard his music being played by my parents in the 1960s. Then I liked it as a young adult and still do. It's timeless. His music is part of America's history and will never go away. It's here to stay. Thanks Herb!

I feel silly. Do you need the GK separate pickup to 'plug' the guitar in? Im not sure how to connect using the 13pin cable? anyone know?

Yes you do unless you have a guitar that has a 13 pin output (and a pickup „under the hood so to soeak), like the red godin (multiac) that is played in the video for example.

No. You don't. I had the GR20 (which sucked and went belly up recently). The GK3 pickup never worked right to begin with. Plus who wants to be tethered to one guitar ? Or bass in my case. I bought a Sonuus B2M analog to midi converter, plugged it into the midi in on the Roland and it worked immediately. No settings to change or configuration required.

I’m a huge Yamaha fan, but as much as I want one of these systems or a Yamaha G10 midi guitar, I gotta admit the results are way better if you take the software route nowadays , full chord tracking and plus with ai coming into the picture…….GOODNIGHT
