I think Benon prefers to be politically correct, which isn't helpful. Putting that aside, he is a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. We need more Ugandans with such a character.

Thanks for hosting this very cool, calm, sober minded Ugandan. He makes me proud being a Ugandan. The notion that the Uganda Airlines should be viewed as infrastructure is quite insightful. After all, even the railways, airlines, water, electricity in countries like the UK were until recently seen as national infrastructure build for the common good before the forces of capitalism came to devour them for private gain

You're absolutely right-Intellectual Property (IP) protection in Africa faces significant challenges due to limited access to resources, expertise, and efficient legal frameworks. For creative minds and innovators, securing IP rights can be difficult, and pursuing legal claims is often lengthy and costly. Cases like Nkosana Kenneth Makate's "Please Call Me" illustrate how drawn-out and complex IP battles can be when large corporations are involved, particularly when innovators lack the legal and financial resources to pursue justice. Until there is a stronger IP framework and broader support for enforcing IP rights, protecting ideas is often tricky, and caution is indeed wise. Innovators may need to consider alternatives like focusing on strategic partnerships, non-disclosure agreements, or even delaying certain disclosures until protections are in place. While the situation is gradually improving in some African countries, the road to robust IP enforcement across the continent remains long.

This is very informative, very rich in many unknowns for young innovators and entrepreneurs. Important to mention that the in today's tech ecosystem, IP can be used as collateral in financial institutions to attract financial capital for startups to grow businesses. It is one of the recommendations for Digital Foreign Direct Investment in advancing economies especially in Africa. The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is one of the global bodies for good reference. Well up Shirley, so proud of you.

A highly educative interview with the interviewer and the interviewee displaying firm grasps of the subject matter. This interview could best be segmented into Uganda's tourism in the past, the present, and the future. In the past, tourism in Uganda was made up of black Rhinos. But, because of poaching,it is presently made of Rhinos imported from South Africa. In past, poaching was very rampant, but presently, with the huge investment in tourism which has led to the increase of visitors to 1.2 million according to this financial year budget, poachers are presently employed in the tourism sector. In the past, the artefacts in Uganda' measeum were minimal, but with the return of some artefacts from Britain, Ugandan museums are rich on historic artefact In the past, tourism contribution to the GDP was minimal. But presently,it contributes 7.6% to the GDP, and with the ongoing investment, this will increase in the future. In the past activities like booking for tourists and accommodation were done manually. But today we have everything done online. And smartphones are to navigate tourism hubs and used to locate places. And for the future, with 5G technology, connectivity will be enhanced. Presently, according to this year financial budget, tourism offices will be opened overseas for marketing.A scheme that did not exist in the past. In the future, the number of chimpanzees will increase.Recall in a separate video, a fund-raiser was launched for the conservation of the chimpanzees. Presently, accommodation for tourism could be built on the Parks. And many more, including the fact that Diana Museveni favourite cuisine is Matoke.

Can your department go to China and bring Jack MA to partner help develop an online agricultural marketplace for east africa ? He can work with young Ugandans at the ICT hub. There is a great need for Ugandan own businesses that can create jobs for 25-35yr old. Such platform, can create jobs in truck driving, logistics, accounting, administrators, sales, legal, c I ntent creators, Engineers etc..
