I saw this movie with a friend in early 1973.It was very well done, especially for such a low budget.I thought the soundtrack was one of the best parts of it.

Complete waste of money if you are paying for anything other than what is on the disk. If theyadd a hundred hours of crazy rare special features on the disk, sure consider it. If you are paying ofr art and packaging, you are a sucker who deserves to be ripped off.

A lot of independently wealthy collectors out there will spend big money for an OOP box just to put in on the shelf and take a picture of it so to gloat on social media.

By today’s standards it is slow. It most likely was a hoax started by the Crabtree family. I am also suspicious of the Ford family as they share the same name as another hoaxed Honey Island monster. It was and is a great drive inn movie.

Scared the crap out of me. I was 10 when it came out. It's still fascinating, i want to visit there still to this day.

Back in the day, the unrated versions of raunchy comedies or horror flicks generally came out on DVD at the same time as the theatrical cut. Lot of discs had both versions.

One of the main reason people hate this movie, is because of the looks of Godzila and because it is called Godzilla. If it had some other name, nobody would care. I personally love corny cheesy 90s movies. I still like this movie!

Saw this in the early 80's in the UK and loved it. It scared the life out of me. We had a small forest at the end of our garden and I had nightmares that there was a bigfoot in there! One winter on the way home from school me and a friend froze as we saw a large black hairy figure through the trees... Turned out it was a lady in a fur coat and hat 🤣

I'm Gen-X, the bulk of my collection was mostly DVDs I purchased new, mostly in places like Walmart over the course of about 20 years or so, started really ramping up around last August . My immediate focus has been mostly "collecting my childhood through early adulthood".

I think there could be some special space in the iceberg for movies that can only be found in p2p file sharing platforms, home-burned to blu-rays because there is no other way to be owned in a blu-ray format. Things like: - Workprint movie versions (AAA movies with unfinished editing that have leaked, usually missing a ton of CGI effects and have rough edit like the infamous Wolverine workprint out there). -Open-matte movie versions (AAA movies that have leaked without any letterbox borders and the full framing can be seen throughout, complete edits with effects etc, just ripped/leaked without any black areas top-bottom). - And fan edits, like the numerous Star Wars fan edit versions.

I’m from fouke and have spent many days in the same places that the movie was filmed. It’s a little cheesy but is definitely a cinematographic masterpiece. And yes there are actually that many crabtrees in fouke.

Saw this on CBS Saturday night midnight movie in 1978. It was a incredible movie and memorable. Since it’s release in 1972 it was a midnight movie up til 1987. Loved it and remembered it. I had the dvd in the early 90s and it was a Friday night watch. It’s a movie that inspired many others after. Call it a Generation X thing. Pam was in it obtaining the rights. The most awesome docu-movie ever.

A couple of other omissions from the iceberg would be the now defunct Olive Films, which put out many catalog titles, but usually with sub-par transfers. Another smaller, important company missing from the iceberg is ClassicFlix. Their restoration work and release of Abbot & Costello and the Little Rascals films, among others, have been well-received and praised.

I know how it is. I’m 21 and I’ve been collecting for a bit. When I was younger I bought a bunch of DVDs and didn’t really watch most of them. I lost most of them and I decided to start rebuilding my collection about 2 years ago. Most of my collection consists of Vinegar Syndrome, Severin and Arrow.

My parents went to see this at the theater when it came out. I guess since it had a G rating it would be okay to take my little four year old butt along. That movie scared the ever-loving shit out me! I had trouble sleeping for days after. Guess my parents regretted that decision.

My movie collecting started in the mid 2000s when all the movie rental stores were going out of business and selling their inventory for next to nothing. I'm still primarily a used movie collector probably 80 percent of my 1200 plus dvd collection came from pawn shops, resell shops ,half price books and eBay. My favorite genres are westerns, film noir and classic samurai films.

I’m with you re: Criterion Collection. They’re basically the gateway to collecting. Anyway, today I learned I’m solidly a Tier 4 girlie. At least according to this iceberg. I recently got into manufactured-on-demand Blu-ray’s and noticed all the companies I’m looking at, most of their catalog is Hallmark Christmas movies. I’m curious if anyone knows why that’s a thing. Those movies are widely available.

With 4Ks their Remaster and encoding can be a bit lacklustre same with KL. Normally if its between a Criterion 4K and another 4K release of the same movie youll be better off with the other company

Trying to get Titanic on VHS in the wild is going to be a difficult task
@OfficialCinematicTrash Жыл бұрын
I have about 3 copies of it on VHS. I know there are people out there trying to break the record of "owning the most copies of Titanic on VHS", but Titanic was such a big movie, not only in the theater but on home video as well. They've printed so many copies of it. No matter how many people try their hand at buying up copies of the Titanic movie, I don't think it ever will get to be as scarce as say a B horror movie that only exists on VHS.
