Would I wash it as a regular shirt with soap? because am afraid my work would go to waste if it did
@TheArtClubOnlineАй бұрын
@@Delilah-is4bm The majority of shirts I’ve done like this are totally fine and I wash them all the time. :) But be sure you use white or a very light fabric and don’t put too much water or conditioner.
@MädchentreffLeylaАй бұрын
Do I need to wash it after a day? Does the paint stick in the long run? I'm afraid of drawing a cool design on it and it just getting washed off.
@TheArtClubOnlineАй бұрын
@@MädchentreffLeyla In my experience if the shirt is white it stays best. Some of them stay super bright even. The idea is that they fade a bit though. I think as long as you don’t use too much conditioner and if you stir it properly it shouldn’t wash fully out. Let me know if it works for you!

Does the paint sink through shirt
@TheArtClubOnline3 күн бұрын
The paint does sink through. So make sure you put something inside the shirt like a piece of cardboard or plastic so you don’t accidentally paint the back.

Did it work? If so can you wash it without it coming off?
@EarthScapeVision6 күн бұрын
@ I ended up scrapping my design because I tried painting over an existing decal & it didn’t fully cover it… I want to try it again though. Once I do I’ll come back to let you know how it went. Sorry I couldn’t answer your question!
@TheArtClubOnline3 күн бұрын
@EarthScapeVision Yes the thing about this method is that it sinks into the fabric fibers… so it’s not the best for covering up another design. Way to go for diving in and trying. I look forward to hearing how it goes!
@TheArtClubOnline3 күн бұрын
I have done quite a few of these and as long as the fabric is very light it’s usually totally washable.

Thanks so much for this! I've seen fabric softener as another option to mix into paint, but I don't buy the liquid kind. I'm not doing full shirts, but wanted to make patches out of old shirts that are too worn to be donated. I'll update with how they turned out!

Does this also work on stencils?
@TheArtClubOnline3 ай бұрын
I would say it should work with a stencil as long as the sponge isn’t overly wet. If it’s too wet it might just bleed around the design. So best thing would be to test it out first on a scrap fabric.

I really like this idea! A strange paint combo/mix I’ve made that worked really well if anyone is interested- mixing watercolor (tubes) paint with mod podge- It dried very quickly and has a translucent effect, I painted miniature flowers and leaves on a box, They stay textured and you’re able to easily layer them I guess it’s just tinting the mod podge really, so you can add as little/much paint as you want until your desired amount, Just remember the mod podge is milky when wet but dries clear, so the dried colors will be more vibrant/saturated than when you mix the paint in wet
@colourfulsouls4 ай бұрын
Note- I painted w this mixture onto watercolor paper I covered a box in (didn’t have glue so used mod podge and had a happy accident figuring out how nice it looks) Anyways- I felt like I should add this note cuz idk if this mixture would work on fabrics too, I’ve never tried it, But sure will try it now

Wel this method probably won’t do too well on a dark fabric sadly. I would say maybe invest in some fabric paint for that. It will not have the same watercolor look, but real fabric paints will work best for dark clothing. I used to use Pebeo.
