Nobody, I mean, "nobody"... wants a plywood guitar. Worst tone ever...
@FlemmingDesign4 күн бұрын
I am sorry to inform you that you are wrong. With an electric guitar, the sound is produced solely by the pickups. This is also the reason why some electric guitars have no body at all and consist only of struts. If you find the sound terrible, it's because of the pickups, which are not really high-quality pickups.
@ytrosk4 күн бұрын
@@FlemmingDesign you need to learn more about guitars... "sorry, ... not sorry".
@FlemmingDesign4 күн бұрын
I don't know much about guitars, that's right. But that's why I asked a local guitar store (actually the biggest in Germany) if it could cause any errors if I choose "random" types of wood. They told me: "The impact from my pickups is way bigger than any wood could be" So "I should think of switching them before thinking of using any specific wood". I don't know your background, but I trusted them and in my opinion (and all who hear the guitar in real too), this guitar sounds very good.

This is basically a direct rip from Chris at Four Eyes. Come on man, give credit where it is due.
@robinflemming2001Ай бұрын
If you Look exactly, that ist not the case. His stand is a bit more detailed. All of his parts have angled edges at the side while that stand from Chris is flat at the sides. In my opinion this is a big Upgrade.

well done, keep on sharing your projects :) your chisel work is extreme - more clamps (or at least one :D ) would be useful to avoid scars... I was taught that a chisel is never supposed to be pointing at any living creature. So watch out for your fingers ;)

Maybe you shouldn't watch my last video. ;) The way I dealt with the chisel there would give you a headache. But I really thank you for the feedback. A clamp is certainly a good idea.

Very nice lamp!! I think it would be better with either a diffusion layer (like a frosted acrylic layer to make the light more uniform inside) or just a lamp shade that you could glue on in layers to the inside of your sphere. Love the design, though! Well done!

Very cool how you were able to build such a nice instrument with no prior knowledge and just one example instrument. Not sure about the plywood center (you could have the same results gluing together strips of hardwood 1.75" thick), but that did require you to make what turned out to be an interesting and unique wood pattern - kind of like a butcher block. We can't argue with the results. Your woodworking experience certainly helped. Nice work!! As for your English, you have better grammar than many Americans, and the pronunciation is clear.

It nearly killed your planner because you aren’t supposed to plane end grain in a planner. It’s better to use a flattening jig and a router.

Do you have helical carbide cutters on that planer? I ask because I still have the regular blades on mine, and I've always been too worried about running endgrain through it.

Looks like it was all face grain going through the planer in the vid
@FlemmingDesign9 ай бұрын
You guys are all right. I didn't plane the end grain in the video. But in a future video, I will build the same board with end grain. I then planned it as you feared. I have the standard blade. It worked surprisingly well. Particularly because the small planer also has a lot of power. But for the cutting blades, of course, that's the end boss. But I don't have any ideas for an alternative either. You could have sanded everything, but then it wouldn't be so nice and flat (at least with my skillset :) ). Maybe the router would have been an option.
