Plug a scan tool into the OBDII port to check any pending or stored codes. You can also see if the emission monitors are set/completed. Important if your state requires a smog check

Very good video. A few additional items: - ask the vehicle seller if they have receipts or records of vehicle maintenance history - check the frame undercarriage for rust. Superficial rust may occur, but where there are whole sections of frame missing or dodgy weld jobs is a no-go situation. - good idea to remove the cap to your power steering filler. That fluid should not smell burnt. - check the vehicle AC fittings. If they’re wet good chance there is a leak from bad seals or lines. - check the brake lines for wet spots as you say. This stuff gets costly. - are there lots of aftermarket wiring additions? If not done properly, those can give you fits going forward. Wiring problems can be time-consuming to locate and fix - drive through a puddle of water then check the wheel tracking on drive pavement for any dog-tracking signs. - check the exhaust color for white or blue smoke 💨 - if you can swing a few bucks, have an independent mechanic you know and trust do a thorough go over to the vehicle. If your seller balks at that idea, walk away.

#1 If it's an older car and especially if it's spent time in a salt belt, crawl under and check the frame, suspension and bushings (rubber) If it's all crusty and rusty, start walking. Body and frame shortcomings will be quite apparent as will failed (leaking) shocks. Serious rust is an absolute no no. Also you provide some VERY good tips here. I'll be reviewing this a few times. Thanks.

I also put engine oil between my fingers. Should feel smooth. If it feels gritty hard pass. That’s metal particles from the engine in the oil. Oil shouldn’t smell burnt.

This is a good video. Especially for people that are watching on their phones because of the way that you filmed it upright. Though, the fact that you had already bought the vehicle kind of makes the whole thing a little bad in a way. You have a lot of new parts that I assume that you have replaced even though you didn't necessarily say so in the video. So for someone who's purchasing a used vehicle who sees all these older parts on a vehicle that they are more likely to encounter would have a different situation to kind of analyze. Especially if you're talking about someone who doesn't know anything about vehicles. However with that being said, I think you did a great job presenting everything and trying to demonstrate to the best of your ability how to examine a car and things to look out for.

Unbelievable. The first video I pull up for my problem. Its the same compressor and it turns out the exact same problem. Followed your steps and it's fixed. I did snip off the end of the rubber feed tube a bit to give it a clean end for the nipple and clamp. Thanks for taking the time to post this.

I just successfully created a spark and now the engine will start. It was the rust on the flywheel that caused enough of a gap problem! After 10 years it is now running again. Your comment about not having experienced rust causing a problem prompted me to 120 grit sand the flywheel. Thank you!

Hi there, I heard you said that you work at a dealer, so I would like to ask you a question. I watch some youtube video about how to replace honda accord 2013-2017 CVT transmission fluid… and they change the filter, too. So, do we need to change the filter for transmission fluid? Thank you.

I have to fix a mower at the cabin this weekend, but am not near it. I was told that our gas leak might be coming from a hose that is behind the carb, different than main fuel hose. Do any of you know what that hose might before? I can't say more about it from where I am now, but I have to try to bring out parts to try a few things...

Great video. I dust the tube and interior of tire with baby powder. I think it helps lube the tube a little to help it settle into the tire, and you finish the job smelling nice.

Just did a back tire last night and the air was rushing out around the valve stem. I was sweating pretty good and I was sure I ripped the tube so I pulled the tube out and called it a night. Well in the morning I filled the tube up and could not find any holes or leaks. I have never had air coming out around the stem before but I never had put a tube in a tubeless tire either. Wish I had seen your video before I changed that tire last night!😂

Another video said there was a side plug and you filled until it ran out ofit but he never showed doing that. I assume you would have to pull that plug sfter warming fluid and let excess drain.
