Thanks and an excellent prez. I tend to use my Fuji DSLR mainly for travel and find LR Mobile is a superb tool for culling the (raw) files and doing some pretty extensive initial editing. Using this approach would mean me waiting to get home before powering up the iMac - not a criticism, just an observation. However, just acquired my new Fuji camera (X-T50 + 16-80) and will do some experimentation with this approach. BTW my other (beloved) camera is a GRIII and I don’t use the film sims there either!

SORRY, silly me ! In my question below I meant X Raw Studio NOT Capture 1....duh! *** Hi Cliff, sorry to trouble you but I have a question and would really appreciate your help, please. *** In the Capture 1 Source Image Folder I cannot see all of the Albums I have in Photos (on my Mac mini M2). I can see that my camera has connected and I have turned to OFF the two settings they recommend in my XT5) so that appears to be 'working' (oh, and the green light is flashing on the camera which is turned ON). You mention that you use a specific Folder where you have put your RAW photos etc. but (and please forgive me if this is really basic) but how do I do that? The only option I appear to get in Photos is to create (another) Album...Bless you and I hope you can help me...pretty please and THANKYOOOOO LOTS !!!

How the famous photographers took so good pictures before Photoshop era?
@michaelpowter72472 жыл бұрын
To be honest, all this fuss over Raw or Jpeg is quite over discussed in my opinion. My solution* Just shoot Raw + Jpeg, large SD cards are not that expensive. Use the Jpegs if you need a quick photo ASAP or just use the Raw files and edit to your hearts content. You may edit in lightroom with all the sliders it provides or apply a new film simulation using X Raw studio. So what's the fuss here? To save more storage space? Just shoot Raw + Jpeg, no regrets.

I've had the X-T1 for years now. Now I'd love to make videos so I'm looking at the X-S10. Your video just about sums up my situation. I will keep my X-T1 so when I feel like I need to have some more hands-on feel of the manual dials and buttons, I'll revert to this! Thanks, great video.

Hi Cliff, I wonder if you can help. I took photos with Fujifilm xs10 using FINE+RAW image quality. Then I copied photos to my Macbook Air using USB CARD READER as connection mode. Now when I open Apple Photo app each photos has JPEG+RAW shown on it. After that I wanted to use Fujifilm X Raw Studio to edit RAW photos. I changed Connection Mode on my camera to USB RAW CONV/BACKUP RESTORE, then connected camera to Macbook using cable, opened X Raw studio, but I cannot see any RAW photos. I must have done something wrong, but don't know what. Can you help? By the way, Raw Recording on my camera is switched to LOSSLESS COMPRESSED. Thank you so much for you assistance/guidance!!!

Thanks for your video. I was completely sold on the X-S10, but just when I was about to pull the trigger, in my region X-T4 went (both with the 18-55 kit) just 15% more expensive, so I got the X-T4. I'm not pro or anything, and the S10 would it been most probably enough, but since I don't think I'll be buying again in the next 5 yrs or so, I though about getting the most complete package, just in case.
@geirjohannesen6673 жыл бұрын
I sold my X-T3 and got the X-S10. The build quality is not quite the same, but more than good enough. The grip is excellent and coming from the Sony A6600 something I missed in the X-T3. Fuji’s retro styling comes at the cost of ergonomics.

How's Xs10 overall? I'm torn between XT3 & Xs10. Not much in vlogging, mostly into Street & low light night photography. Thanks.

I am in the middle of deciding which Fuji to buy the X S10 or X T4. Getting hooked on very capable Sony Rx 100v years back I really put size and weight high on my priority list. Quality of still images is most important and IBIS is as well. I am a hands on buyer so I need to have a deeper understanding of the Fuji control options on the X S10 . However, I too am leaning in that direction. They both share the same lenses so not an issue. The most likely winner for me should be XS10, but finding who even has a camera to look at and study is non existent today. I hate a purchase on virtual information.
@CliffDaigle3 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the late reply. Yeah, it's a tough call for sure. Honestly if the cost isn't a factor I'd go X-T4 - that camera is just about perfect. Image quality is identical between the two. Ergonomics and handling are both fantastic, although in different ways. The X-S10 feels much smaller - which could be a pro or a con depending on how big your hands are and what you prefer. Luckily you can't go wrong - they're both amazing machines! Check out www.camerasize.com to get an idea of the size difference and how they look with different lenses attached.

Living in England, weather sealing is a must.
@CliffDaigle3 жыл бұрын
Hard to argue with that! Lack of weather sealing is something I wrestle with myself. I like to shoot in the rain and snow and so far have been lucky with non-weather sealed cameras - but that luck is bound to run out one of these days.

I have the X-T20 series and they're not the same settings for me to connect to my computer. How do I connect my X-T20 to my computer? In the video, he's using X-T4. On my X-T20 there isn't a USB RAW Conv./Backup Restore
@CliffDaigle3 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the late reply. I don't have an X-T20 here to test, but I do know you need firmware 2.0 for the camera to be supported. If you have that firmware update then I'm not sure you need to do anything except plug it in. Let me know if that helps or if you've found a solution!
@Carrot_Handler3 жыл бұрын
I went for a xs10. 10 bit video is overrated for majority of users and weather sealing in the past has failed me... No camera is 100% weather sealed. So it's rain coats on even the best weather sealed camera out, not worth the risk. The XS10 is a killer package and Fuji lenses for stills photography are incredible.
@CliffDaigle3 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the late reply. Yep, 10-bit isn't necessary for most of us. Unless you're doing heavy grading in post 8-bit is perfect. The X-S10 is a huge bang for the buck camera and all most people need.

I'd like to see X RAW Studio on the iPad/iPhone (if it exists I missed it). I don't see why it would be a big deal given is uses the camera to process images (newer iPads are faster than most laptops anyway even if it didn't). Would make a truly portable with a far better efficiency than trying to use in camera RAW processing.

I agree! I think everything should be on the iPad. The pro models are so fast now I think we'll see a lot of apps starting to work on them.

Doubt between xt3 and sx10. Eventually bought xt3 because the more pro specs. Bitrate - burst - weathersealing- dual sd - controls layout- screen rotation i prefer on xt3. For me the 100$ extra justify every penny. Not to mention the shuttersound wich is louder on the xs10. The last update on xt3 lettery says: same autofocus as xt4

I love the X-T3 too. Just an amazing camera. No reason to switch unless IBIS is a priority. That camera will be awesome for years to come.

If you put them into the capture folder of a session Capture One will notice and add them to that session. I haven't tried with catalogs though - I use sessions in C1 all the time.

Yes. On the camera you can see all of your settings as well, but can choose not to display them on the external device.
@sjoerdbrinks32324 жыл бұрын
Good comparison, I think I am one of the switchers you expected. After having used Several Nikons (D200 was far too complex for me and I still own a D7000). I now require a camera that I can use for vlogging and streaming. I also want it to replace my D7000 for photography. Although I will probably not use 4K that much yet, I do want to have the option. I've been looking at the Canon M50, Nikon Z50 and the Panasonic G90/95, I require the external microphone input, clean hdmi, swiffle screen and descent autofocus. For streaming I also need to keep it connected to power. The X-S10 seems to check all the boxes. The USB-C to me is a bonus just as the In Body Image Stabilisation. The Canon M50 does not offer clean hdmi output, the mark II will but it is even more expensive than the X-S10 and it is outperformed by the X-S10 on mast aspects. I have some Nikon Glass but the converter from F to Z mount cost a third of the camera. I just ordered it and will pick it up tomorrow.

Good, well-reasoned comparison here. I recently got the XS and 10-24. My first Fujifilm. Unfortunately the controls are not as customizable as they could be. The front and rear command dials, for example, aren’t customizable at all. But in Manual mode, the front command dial (or lens ring) controls aperture, the rear command dial controls shutter speed. Which is probably how a lot of people run their XT3/4. You can leave ISO as it is - press the button and then either joystick or rear command dial to scroll to the value you choose. Or you can assign it to the function dial that normally controls the film simulations. I’ve left ISO where it is by default and used the option to allow the film sim knob to control exposure compensation when in Manual. Works well. Just a control option you might like to try if you’ve haven’t already...
