Wonderful capture, magnificent birds! What size telephoto lens would you recommend to photograph the Sea Eagle over at Oostvaardersplassen? I imagine you were located in one of the hides?

Hello C Ash, yes this was filmed in the Schollevaar hide in the Oostvaardersplassen. This is filmed with a 100-400 mm lens with a 2x , also had some luck that there was ice so the white- tailed sea egale could land a lot closer on the ice.

That period in February 2021 I saw tons of Woodcocks here in my area in Germany. Even more birds than I had seen my whole live before! Many of them did not find enough food and starved to death, others were preyed by Goshawks and even Sparrowhawks at daytime. But few specimens managed to survive those two hard and cold weeks. Your video reminds me of this experience!

Yes those where some cold and snowy days. Seen many Woodcocks here as well trying to find some food to get by. Still it was hard to film them because they flew up as they see you. Thanks for your comment and hope you have a good week!

Dankjewel , ok dat is een hele zeldzame dwaalgast je kan je waarneming op waarneming. nl plaatsen deze soort is namelijk al jaren niet meer gezien in Nederland. Zo kunnen andere vogelaars er ook van genieten
