There's one original beige service cap for sale currently on eBay: www.ebay.com/itm/296681427905 (minus the insignia).

In which situations they wear the "Garrison" cap ? I never understood this.
@armynursecorpsww28 ай бұрын
The garrison cap was authorized for U.S. Army nurses in July 1944. From that point on, they could wear it on any occasion with their service uniform, both official and unofficial.

Well done and great clip. Another very early Army Nurse Corps (ANC) Uniform was the 'Auxiliary' Blue uniform which was later replaced as per what you have here, as the ANC technically weren't part of the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps (WAAC, early war)/Women's Army Corps (WAC, mid-late war) so they wore their own blue uniform at first, but as the WAAC/WAC took off in numbers it made sense to standardise uniforms, they adopted the WAAC/WAC style Olive Drab (OD) uniforms. This also happened in the British and Commonwealth countries, where the Nursing Corps (Auxiliary) wore a grey uniform instead of khaki, aka 'Nurse Grey'. Perhaps one day you could do either the early WWII ANC Blue uniform and/or the WAAC/WAC Summer OD uniform. www.blitzkriegbaby.de/homepage.htm All the best.

Could I get a pattern for the outfits I would like to start reenacting but I need to make/buy the outfits.
@armynursecorpsww2 Жыл бұрын
Hello and thank you for your question. While we don't have a pattern for the garments featured in this video, we can certainly help point you in the right direction. The uniforms you see in the video are actually WWII originals that we've acquired mainly through eBay. Occasionally, you can find such historical pieces in Facebook militaria groups (for example "Female Militaria Collectors Group"), at militaria shows or from collectors. There are reproductions out there but the quality is not quite the same as the original garments. (Example: nestof.pl/en/products/us-uk-39-45/u-s-army/u-s-uniforms/us-wac-jacket-od-repro-9623.html or www.sofmilitary.co.uk/us-womens-officers-od-51-jacket-uniform-a-class-tunic.html) Good luck with your reenactment journey! 🎥👗👞

This is fantastic, thanks! I'd love to see more about the other uniforms too, and where you find all this great info on the uniforms and time periods involved. I'm in France and looking to make my own ANC impression. I'm interested in the white dress with blue cape. Thanks again for a great video!
@armynursecorpsww2 Жыл бұрын
Hello and thank you for your positive comment! We really appreciate it. <3 This page is a good start to your research: www.blitzkriegbaby.de/ It contains basic information on different WWII female uniforms. The author of this page also published a book on Army Nurse Corps uniforms. It's like a bible to all ANC reenactors. You can order it on Amazon: www.amazon.com/Women-Victory-American-Servicewomen-Uniforms/dp/0764339591 We are also slowly adding descriptions of different ANC uniforms to our website: www.armynursecorpsww2.com/en/uniforms-equipment. And apart from that, almost any Army Nurse memoir or interview mentiones the uniforms at some point. The white dress and blue cape might be tricky as none of these uniforms is reproduced. You can look for original ones but they are not cheap. For example, there's one blue cape on eBay now: www.ebay.com/itm/126054559028. If you like this combination, you might enjoy the photo gallery from our recent "Pearl Harbor" event: www.armynursecorpsww2.com/en/rekon-2023. Good luck with your search!

@@armynursecorpsww2 Thank you so much, this is INCREDIBLY helpful! And your outfits at the Pearl Harbor event are absolutely PERFECT, that's exactly what I want to do! You mentioned that that particular uniform's pieces aren't reproduced, so how did you all get that outfit? Did you all find original vintage versions online, or were some handmade? I do know how to sew, so I'm willing to make them myself, but I have no idea where to find an accurate pattern for that cape or dress.

Very nice outfits, where can I buy something like that? I have been looking for WW2 army women's uniforms in size 44/46 for a long time. 💜
@armynursecorpsww2 Жыл бұрын
Hello, thank you for your nice comment! The uniforms that you can see in the video are genuine WWII uniforms. 99% of them comes from eBay auctions. Facebook militaria groups are also a great place to buy uniforms. Search for "Female Militaria Collectors Group", "WW2 women's uniforms search and sell" or "US Military Collectibles "Make Offer" Page". You can also check qmi.be/en/ for nice reproductions. Hope that helps!

Where do you source your uniforms from?
@armynursecorpsww22 жыл бұрын
Hello Amelia, thank you for your question. The majority of our service uniforms are WWII original and were purchased on online auctions (eBay). Some accessories, shoes and field uniforms (not shown in this video) are modern reproductions. Since we're located in Europe, we like to order from QMI (qmi.be/en/), for example. You can also find some treasures on Etsy, militaria Facebook groups and militaria shows.

Yes, she served in the 107th Evac Hospital (ETO). They landed in Northern Ireland, then went to Wales before crossing the channel in early July 1944. Served in various commands and wound up in the 3rd Army. Were involved in the Battle of the Bulge and finished in Wurzburg,Germany after taking over a former German Army hospital. There she married one of the enlisted ward men, Bob Frisbie. They came home and had four kids (one of which is my wife, Sharon). She passed in 1989 and Bob in 1990.
