I discovered a fatal flaw in the Pi8's. Mine were brand new yesterday from John Lewis cost £349.99 and I maxed out the EQ and Volume with Noise Cancelling ON and played this track kzbin.info/www/bejne/fHvbhaBpbJeao7Msi=r6q1Zrn0X3cKr1m9 by Mark Spence 2 The Floor. On boths Earbuds ran loud, nasty crackling distortion where the drivers could not handle it or clashed with the Noise Cancelling. I urge you to test this for yourself. You may want to return them fast.

Long time multi-model B&W owner here (own some 803 D3 presently). The first B&W car audio was in a Jaguar. Honestly, it was utterly underwhelming and mediocre.

the XC90 with B&W sound system was hands down the best on the market. The Mark Levinson in some Lexusses was top tier under the XC90. the worst of the bunch and very surely not the cheapest was Burmester. (what people call Burmeister mostly for some reason...). There were 90's BMW's that sounded better that whatever cardboard trash they but under those fancy grills.

Had mine conk out within the first 3 uses where it wouldn't charge. Support was abysmal but they did replace them eventually. Noise cancelation is horrid. Not worth the ridiculous price.

It's really embarrassing for such a well-known manufacturer like you that the new Pi8 doesn't allow volume control. Even the cheap manufacturers can do that. It's a huge disadvantage that the PI7 S2 couldn't do that, but the fact that the new PI8 still can't do that is extremely embarrassing and sad for Bowers & Wilkins. I'd rather stick with Sennheiser. I'm more than disappointed. There aren't even any software updates for such expensive headphones.

The Pi8 does allow volume control at the ear buds. Within the associated Bowers & Wilkins music app, you can select the option to control volume with a long hold of the left earbud decreasing volume and increasing volume by a long hold of the right earbud. The Pi8's and associated Bowers & Wilkins music app have both received updates since the Pi8's were released in August of this year.
