Great video. For many years I avoided Chamonix because it’s not ski in ski out, it’s not connected like the 3 Valleys. But finally I decided to give it a try. We drove from the UK so we had a car. I get Chamonix now. It was great. Every day a different ski area, Grand Montets off piste superb. A great day out in Courmayer and the Valle Blanche ticked off the list. Glad I did it as yes it’s disappearing fast. I really wish I had done it in the late 80’s early 90’s when I started skiing. I will definitely return and ski in Chamonix again sometime hopefully soon.

The first Pin Binding was made by an Tyrolian with the name: Fritz Barthel. He lives nearby Kufstein and back then he called it "low-tech" The binding was invented because fritz was annoyed about the weight if common touring bindings in these days while climbing Mont Blanc on the back travel of an clibing tour in France. If you talk 30 seconds with Fritz you absolutely understand why he called it "Low-Tech" while everything had to be hightech... This guy is just a genius... absolutely cool

How do I contact you. Would love to do this hike next July with my sons.
I first watched this over one year ago as I was getting primed for my first climbing trip to Chamonix. I returned to this again this summer before heading back to Chamonix and Zermatt for another climbing trip, and was shocked to see the news of Rob's death. I used his outstanding book "The Mountain Guide Manual" as additional curriculum while completing my Diploma in Mountain Medicine. His contribution to exploring and guiding in the mountains will be missed.

The city should maintain that bike trail better. the trails are covered with weeds and poison ivy. Great place but parks department does nothing to maintain it.

Was on a cruise to Greenland to Nuuk and other west coast towns late Fall 2023. Admittedly, I did it the easy way but I loved it. Not so sure its the best idea to make Greenland a so called tourist destination and I got the feeling that Greenlanders are of two minds on this, pro and con, based on conversations with some of them. They have a unique way of life as discussed here and I wonder about an influx of people. Anyway, it was an awesome experience that my wife and daughter took the lead on. It certainly won me over and I would be glad to return if I could. Great video.
