Both right and wrong it looks better if you take it off no brush strokes I always check the plates around them because usually there's a poor drywall job or the hole was cut too big anyway the plate will get stuck from the paint and will tear sometimes unless you score it's really just as fast just to take them off I could take off a plate quicker than you could cut it in and roll up next to it really your preference a true painter will take it off because he understands the big picture

Pros don’t clean roller covers, they are disposable! Take sleave off frame and put into paint bucket or wrap in plastic. When job is done toss in the trash

What nap length would you recommend for painting a 5v metal roof? I am guessing about an inch nap. Paint type for that? Regular roller or the ones made for 5v metal roofs?

I would like silver metallic paint for a room. Where do I get it. I've gone to the paint store and they don't seem to know what I'm talking about. Help. Thank you.

I have a question not really related to this video... Do you wear a mask when cleaning up a interior after painting airless? I have the feeling it is necessary.... Great channel, have learnt a lot of you and your channel true the years. Greetings from Belgium!

Top coat is only as good as the bottom coat. Lacquer can be shaded to blend the door in to look great. However, this is an exterior door lacquer will not last outside. Even lacquer stain. Best to strip it, stain it and apply coats of automotive urethane ( 2 part) sheen of your choice. This will last.

As a contractor, I love this idea. The only comment I have is a Tire Kicker will waste your time but I don't fault the Bid Shopper for trying to get the best price. How else would the customer know if the first contractor was interested in the project and submitted a competitive price? The customer should always try to get three quotes, especially if they aren't familiar with contractors or ballpark costs. You get a sense of where a customer falls when you have your first communication with them. Ask them if they are putting together budget pricing or if this is a real project. Budget pricing as well as Tire Kickers can be handled with a phone call and save you time.

As a homeowner, I am interested in purchasing an airless sprayer for a variety of activities. Fence stain, patio stain, and cabinet repaint. Can't justify a Titan sprayer; any ideas on Graco? Magnum corded, quickshot, and TC Pro Dewalt. Wish you had included links to the specific areas you were displaying for faster purchasing 😁

Click baiting on paint related topics is almost like cheating! This is a prime example. Some people loose their minds (online) over this 😅 your shooting fish in a barrel. You have a great channel though and I’ve learned a from it over the years. In answer to your question, it depends on the clients expectations. If they just want it done fast sure. Like a high traffic hallway in a commercial space or whatever. It looks the same and most pros can do it perfect . But kind of lazy. I take them off so when I get to that one fixture that ain’t on right, I can say that I didn’t want to touch it. Like a plate for a coaxial cable that’s just screwed into the drywall. I can say I didn’t want to touch it because it’s not in a proper box and I’m not sure it will go back on correctly. But if I cut in around 10 outlets well that’s just goofing around.

Its because of you my house turned out so great. I had a baby blue house painted it two years ago. My neighbor's were giving me a hard time because i spent the time to caulk everything, nail heads, under the boards, cracks, window sill, everything, my house looked polka dotted 😂😂😂 but i sprayed it the color the wife wanted and it turned out fantastic!! Everything i learned, i learned watching your channel.. from the proper tools -- to everything, i now have the same confidence to do this on my rental properties myself.

I paint in Arizona where stucco has been the building material for ~40 years. In my experience you have to backroll stucco to cover the entirety of the jagged surface finish both for coverage and a uniform finish. I’ve met many painters from elsewhere who always claim that you don’t have to backroll. Painters don’t want to backroll because you have to work in close co-ordination with another guy as you move along the wall. All this nonsense fluffing about with the paint gun in this video, will likely create noticeable uneven spots and is nice for the KZbin show, but little else!
