I remember Fish ripping into the crowd that day too, he didn't hold his feelings back either. Icicle Works were great. I somehow have it in my head that The La's were there. I could have misheard the name (Larks maybe) at the time. Do you recall them or a similar sounding named group?

Hendrix, genius ahead of his time, Jimmy Page, again because of the time, incredible riff writer, then Gilmour, he is like Mozart, I remember every note from every riff because it actually touches my heart. He is top of my list. I feel lucky to have breathed the same air as all of these geniuses. Many thanks to the film makers. And many thank Mister Gilmour.

I’m not sure we fully comprehended what we lost when Armstrong passed. When we look at the calibre of the men involved in the space race and we consider that some would consider Armstrong to be near top of that list it gives us small insight into the qualities he had.Some might think that it was just a numbers game that seen Armstrong first on the moon however l personally think that someone important within the system had identified him as a unique and deserved “first man”
@KingsizeMusicOfficial4 ай бұрын
He certainly had 'The Right Stuff'. And politically the fact the he was by then a civilian may have some bearing on it - I don't know. But the fact that he had a cool head in life threatening situations (Gemini 8 & the LLRV spring to mind!) I think was more of a factor.
@mikelee33164 ай бұрын

What I like best from this era of the British rock music scene is the incredible pool of talented support musicians which pop up in different acts over the years. Seen here Mick Ralphs (Bad Company), Chris Slade (The Firm, AC/DC) and Jody Linscott (The Who, Elton John).

This was such a warm day. I came to see Tull and Marillion. I got fairly stoned during Tull's act which set the tone of the day. It was fabulous and I look back with such fondness. I saw Bowie in 1990 but haven't seen a gig there since. I recently went back there late one afternoon squeezing through the locked gates last year. I sat on the hill somewhere near where I sat some 37 years or so ago just remembering. One of life's best days... This is a fantastic recording by the way. Great sound quality.

Similar story here ;-) I can't believe that amount of time has elapsed! Would love to go back to see what its like now. It was this set that really turned me onto Tull. Glad you enjoyed the recording - I sourced it from the Tommy Vance Rock Show radio broadcast, but I was lucky enough to have decent quality recording equipment at the time.

@@KingsizeMusicOfficial Many thanks for doing that. You've given me a few hours of very happy reminiscing. I keep coming back and replaying the set as the quality is so good. It's crazy how long ago it was when you think about it. Tull were certainly sounding so good that day.
