Hi, You can measure your feet, and add up 1/3 or 1/2, depending on how much wool you use. I usually calculate schrinkage to 40-50%.

Hi Deborah, The reason why some of the edges of the hankies are too pronounced could be because either the hankie could be even more separated or that the edge itself is too thick. When this occur, I normally pull the silk further into the hankie layout.

Yes, I leave them on the last to dry, at least until almost dry.

@@Rhynome You can of course dip them in latex a few times, or brush thin layers of latex on, letting the latex dry before the next layer. I usually also have a thin layer of potatoflour over the sole when all the layers of latex are totally dry.

@@ullform7160 If the latex is completely dry won't the potatoflour eventually just rub off? This is a fascinating new world for me.

@@Rhynome Yes it will. However, when you've had a few layers of latex on, the rubbersoles will stick to each other, and a thin layer of potatoflour brushed on will prevent this. Excess flour is easily brushed off.

Hi, You probably layed the wool out a bit thin in certain areas. When you wet the wool before adding the top silk hankie layer, I suggest you double check that wool is covering everythink. If you find some small gaps, these will be larger once the wool is felted and shrunk. Better luck on your next one!
