Dang you used that AP down to the last second lol ILS is amazing
@spicyweasel6 ай бұрын
It was ILS-Cat 3 Dual landing. It can even land and come to a complete stop by itself if it weren't disconnected. Pretty nifty system tbh!

Visibilty... and the minimums also
@AveChristusRexRegum17 ай бұрын
The visibility wasn’t great so the pilots used the minimums call out to disengage the autopilot. In a good visibility day they would disconnect the AP little bit earlier.

I’ve never heard that auto brake aural warning (then again, I’m just a student pilot). Anyone know why? Saw the low auto brake push switch light extinguish right after main gear touched down. Did PF accidentally tap the brakes? I guess if you lose the auto brake prematurely it makes sense to get a master warning.

It's a a320neo thing
@tanshaomala Жыл бұрын
It's an "Autobrake Off" alert (video cut at the end) so he probably tapped the brakes. Sometimes done intentionally if the landing margin is sufficient and to save the brakes from getting too hot.

@@ALE23XJ No, this option can be retrofitted also on the 320ceo
@tanshaomala Жыл бұрын
@@skat0r It's definitely an autobrake off alert, I'm not rated on the 320 but it sounds exactly the same on the 350. Perhaps its an aftermarket retrofit? It wouldn't surprise me, the new neos come with options for all the fancy tech anyway.
@tanshaomala Жыл бұрын
@@skat0r You're more qualified than me on the 320 then, just saying from what I know that is 100% an autobrake off alert.

You know its gonna be a good landing when ya hear the 5 callout by the RA

I've heard "one" too but it's about as rare as a unicorn
@mjj3298 Жыл бұрын
This has absolutely nothing to do with how ‘good’ the landing will be. Airlines will configure the RA callouts according to preference. In other words, if they asked the manufacture for the ‘5’ callout, it will always happen at 5. The only exception is if it’s an EXCEPTIONALLY hard landing where the sink rate is so quick that the system can’t announce the alerts in time.
@itsdelex4902 Жыл бұрын
@@CraZy291 it doesn’t work like that. It’s configured by the airline.
@mjj32986 ай бұрын
@@thecomedypilot5894 there’s a difference between a landing being so absurdly hard that all RA callouts can’t fire in time, and thinking that hearing a 5 callout means a smooth landing. In essentially all normal landing scenarios, that callout will be heard if the airline selected it as part of the callout package. Not hearing it is the unusual circumstance. Stop regurgitating nonsense.
