God, do I love Lars Vegas! I saw them in NYC in the late-90s when the whole swing thing was popular in an underground way. The musicianship was top notch and the singer's nerdy-hip duality was so fresh. A comeback is in order. Or at least get their music on Spotify. 90 Miles an Hour in the Rain!

As great as all of Velocity Girl's output was, "Crazy Town" will remain, in my aging and addled mind, one of the greatest pop toons of the contemporary rock era. Cranked up on my car stereo, or in my ear buds, it used to inspire me, make me dance in mad circles, drive me to tears on a few occasions. Ahhh, the beautiful is days of my youth. Good times. Probably the best live band I've ever seen. The way they switched instruments made it so dynamic, interesting, especially the way Jason and Eric had their individual drumming styles--it's not necessarily a thing one notices until it changes-up. Such an incredible band.
