I havent collected warhammer for over 20 years but i still found it interesting. How much for the box out of interest? Last time i got a starter set it was £50 for a rulebook and 2 armies. Looks like a lot more in this one

It says £155 on the official GW homepage so a bit more than £50 20 years ago but you only get one army in this box so you still would have to buy another box/multiple boxes to have another army

If you look carefully, you'll see how GW reused old models so they didn't have to put much effort in.

Yeah I can see that. The only difference from the old models as I see it is base size and the new duke or baron model.

It is but maybe they should both make new models and keep making the old models so people have a choice. If every model was a new one maybe some others would complain about that too so give the customer a choice so everyone can be happy :)

Really even the movement trays come in pieces. Plus two for $40 before taxes, this is a complete pass since I can get far better from Litko. GW is really going to milk this cow with very overprice miniatures and now movement trays.

@@miniaturesimulations3659 So very true but since I got started with WFB over 30 years ago they really do not have anything that I want from them, since I do have large armies for the following; Empire, Elves, Dwarves, Undead (not Tomb Kings or Vampire Counts) and Orks and Goblins. All told around 3,000 miniatures and that is just what I have for WFB.

If I can write something. Actually showing dice throws and fights make it more interesting and (dynamic)? for the viewer? Whereas showing just results makes it less interesting. I know that it probably would mean more editing, it would be more time consuming. Maybe it would be worth it. Maybe not. All things said, I enjoy videos and hope that more will come out :)

In this box you can build the saurus warriors with either club or spear, either kroxigors or kroxigor warspawned and the option to either build a saurus oldblood on carnosaur, a scar-veteran on carnosaur or a skink oracle on troglodon :) I hope that answered your question?

I guess so. I have only got the kroxigor box as a regular box and in that box the sprues are the same as in the vanguard box. I guess the same is true of the saurus warriors regular box.

Hi and thanks for watching :) Yes, the troll has to be in contact with the catapult to shoot and may neither be engaged in combat and nor knocked prone in order to do so.

@@miniaturesimulations3659 Thanx for the reply. This is what confuses me because trolls can't be knocked prone they have the strength of 7. When I read the siege rules it says a troll may move a catapult up to full move speed but I couldn't find anything that actually says he needs to man the catapult to fire it as the orcs are crew. Maybe I'm blind and he does need to be there but I couldn't see it. I was actually looking for some games to see if anyone took it and ran the trolls into combat because if that is doable that would make this a more appealing unit in my opinion because it kind of counters blinding light. I guess I will look again luckily I haven't got mine in the mail yet.

Hi again :) I had to reread your first question and yes the troll is NOT needed to shoot the catapult, the orc crew does that, but the troll allows you to reroll the to hit roll and to reroll on the scatter chart which is really making the catapult more deadly. The troll comes as part of the catapult.

Hi :) they are devastating to say the least! Having a troll allows you to re-roll the To Hit roll and the roll on the Scatter chart for the catapult but it comes at a price since a Mordor War Catapult is worth 160 points with no extra upgrades.

Considering the area effect, you want to target a guard in the middle of the pack to hit more minies. Worst case: the in the way test hits the front guy, same as you did there. Best case: you hit a guy in the middle, and kill a lot more troops. Don't underestimate the AOE, I fried a considerable amount of my own goblins this way :')

I had the exact same perception in the beginning thinking of roman testudo formations, but the rules point out that the models just need to be in base contact with each other and not be prone, so I think the rule applies here. I also think that it could make sense using this specialrule if thinking of some kind of wedge formation for cavalry :)
