I want to like Buffalo as a company for lots of reasons. The concept of the shirts (I have a Special six and a Wind shirt) are good, they work well. The problem is there is just something clunky about their products. The design/cut of them is crude, the colours are limited and the range as a whole a bit illogical. Yes the pile lined shirt keeps you very warm (I get that it will save you on a hill side) but it feels a bit like hauling an agricultural bag over you and they are expensive. The windshirt is a really weird cut/shape and actually not as wind resistant as the similar Paramo product. Yes I rate Buffalo but why the hell they don't just refine their product designs a bit and come upto date I don't know! People want practical performance but also to look cool when the end of the hike goes in the pub and for an expensive product they will want to use them in different scenarios. I'm not suggesting they get too fashion orientated or anything, just get some advice on design and refine them a bit. They could be a massively successful British manufacturer if they did but I fear they are going to bumble along at best.

I always found the mountain shirt neck tight and uncomfortable esp. the nasty Velcro strip, and zips rough on the skin and the open poly pile irritating. It should have fitted hood like every other smock. I boiled in it unless it was unzipped up the side and then it was drafty and uncomfortable. I found it hard to like and binned it.

It makes me wonder how Paramo works with the TX Direct wash. What makes Paramo "directional"? I don't see why Paramo stuff wouldn't be less breathable also.

1, the chest pocket absorbs water. 2, it's not fitted around the arms. 3, the neck zip lets in cold air. 4, the zips get jammed in the material. The zips should be big and chunky, so you can open the pockets with mittens on. Lots of room for improvements.

Good review, I have this pack in multicam, it’s a good pack, but the multicam straps on the front are quite thin, compared to the brown straps on the side, which secure the side pockets. Also the multicam straps have the word ‘multicam’ written on them….like I couldn’t tell?

Lovely boots for running but I found the A frame uncomfortable carrying heavy weight moving slow.

I bought these boots as I’ve had several mountain gtx boots over the years to do doors and security, I was looking forward to this new model only to be disappointed after only two days wear blisters/bubbles appeared on one of the boots toe box after light security in a hospital. I contacted Steve at camouflage store who couldn’t have been quicker to respond and more helpful in contacting lowa on my behalf and advising me to send them back to lowa for a replacement pair. I hope it’s just a one off teething problem as it’s a new model.

I own one. Good pad tho a bit heavy at 1kg/2lbs. I use mine with the sticky side up & roll it up with the sticky side out so that it doesn't curl up when I lay it out.

Used these boots for a while on short hikes and they were okay. Thought they'd be okay on a longer 3 week hike and they crippled me. Bruised heels and multiple blisters . On the plus side the only time my feet got wet was when the water came over the top.

I've just purchased a pair of Tethera today from Taunton leisure in Exeter. Looking forward to getting up on Dartmoor with them of which I live on the edge of. Hoping they live up to the positive reviews I've read on them.

What may be a stupid question....I'm thinking of replacing my Salomon boots for Altberg as I am tabbing in them and I want an all leather boot as the Salomons are not holding up to a bit of wear and tear. I'm a civilian and would wearing the Altberg boot be considered stolen valour as it is a military boot?

I love Altberg but these shoes. Yuk and at that price, no way!

Not much point in the toe lacing when it's got a narrow toe box and rand otherwise it looks like a good shoe.
