Maintain your ORP at or above 200, preferably 275, but minimum of 200. ORP is the ability of the chlorine in your salt to sanitize the water. As you pump it full of minerals and trace elements the water chemically then CANNOT breakdown the organics then your bacteria and microorganisms bloom then you have health issues and can't figure out why as all your CHEMICAL PARAMETERS are ON PAR.

Thanks for sharing, I don't think we talk enough about ORP in the hobby. Thanks for checking out the video.

Does a normal fliter work. My friend has coral i only want fish. They are pressurring me to take my filter cartridge out throw it away add cermic beads and filter floss. Is he wrong hes always making me spend more. Like i want a hydrometer he bullies me into a refractometer. I only want fish and hes like oh get reef salt only "its so much better". Like im too poor for him. :( he also said i need a wavemaker for my fish. Its just a 10gal i think hes lying about that too. He just wants flow for corals i bet. He sells coral i think hes conning me
@420bbКүн бұрын
Hes trying to bully me into a reef coral tank I cant afford it. I just want basic clown fish 10gal.

Hey thanks for the question, yeah a simple hang on the back filter for a small fish only system will be fine. Keep up on water changes. The replacement filter cartridges do need to be switched out periodically.Also I would add a small circulation pump for water flow so that there are no dead spots for food to settle and so the water doesn't become stagnant and have a film across the top. As far as the salt if you're talking instant ocean salt or their reef crystals for example if you are not planning to add corals down the road then the regular instant ocean is fine.

The first one has very flimsy blades that didn't really work. The other by two little fishies is a hard blade. It is very sharp and can scrape Coraline. I should make a full video about the differences

Been doing fish for 30+ years. Question? My Blood Parrot fish, they're huge, 4 years old, I have 4 in a 75 gallon. But my biggest, blood parrot, Biff? He keeps throwing rocks in it. 🤦 Like some, "Finding Nemo" type attitude. I moved his home away from the pumps. He'll still go across the tank and keeps dropping rocks in it. Makes him mad. I think? Does this to the filter pump too. I'm considering taking him into my buddies fish store. But? I love him. He's my favourite. But a huge pain in the highnee. Doubles my maintenance time. I hope you have a solution of sorts for me. I really am at my witts end. Help! Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦

its a 50/50 shot the mantis will attack the fish greens stay quite small and usually as long as you have small crabs and invert it will leave the fish alone. Research about them your kid might actually enjoy having him over anything else as they are really special creatures. You can also spot feed it small chunks of scallop or fish or any grocery store "ocean meat" and it will stay happy and full and leave things alone
