@@jeffstratton8838 it’s been several years since I was there, and I can’t imagine the selection criteria has gotten any easier, but the lightweight/twin class is a brilliant way to learn the course! I went on a stock twin, which was maybe a little under-powered for many points in the course as you’re flat out for ages which is pretty hard on the engine, but the advantage was that the terminal speeds were a lot more manageable for finding you way around. A supertwin is what most people run, but it’s a lot more expensive and reliability depends on the tune of it. If you can get an entry, go for it! Oldest and most prestigious track in the world, racing on it is like nothing else! 😍

The honest answer is time and effort! Get a race licence, upgrade it to national or international depending where you’re from, get the required signatures for a “mountain course” race licence, do multiple visits to the island to learn the course, spend 100s of hours of watching onboard laps, then put an entry in and keep your finger crossed...! Took me 5 years to get there and I only managed the “amateur” race - the Manx Grand Prix. Good luck and have fun 😁🤙

The video quality isn’t great, but it basically happened just in front of me, the marshall’s didn’t have time to get flags out by the time i rode through it! 😳

@@flatoutintop23 I read in the description you had a bad crash that year. Have you gone back? I can honestly say if I had a video like this and I eventually died of old age, I would want this playing on a loop at my funeral.

@@jimmybaggs5342 haha, no I didn’t go back sadly! Fractured my spine, was very lucky to walk away from it, but the worst thing was that GoPro wasn’t recording the crash!!! 😭🤬 Very grateful to have been round the track though, and as you say, really nice to have some reasonable onboard footage! Hope you enjoyed the ride-along 😉😁🤙

Hi thanks for the comment 😁🤙 Once you get the hang of them they are great fun in nice peeling waves, but be careful in stuff of any size - I’ve damaged both of my boards with the leash swivels crushing the tails - there is a lot of force going through the leash, and my tail savers were too short for the swivels to clear the hulls and rails...they are fragile boards ☹️ yes I think something odd has happened to the edit, I’ll contact admin. Wooohoooo yesterday I managed to surf the board in not optimal for surf sea conditions. Max speed 16.2 kph! 5th session on puma. What a sport! I love this board.

@@Yandrama haha, funnily enough "Uncle Rutter" led me and a few others on our sighting lap at the 2015 Manx GP, on a 250 Honda single....he set off like a scalded cat down Bray Hill, it was meant to be a 60-80% lap speed but for the first time it felt scary-fast! haha

@satriyowicak just some lucky bloke who wasn't great at racing but still managed to achieve his dream of racing around the world famous Mountain Course!! ;-) lol!

the vibration from the camera really doesn't do it justice! it sounded mega on the over-run!

thank you very much! sorry but theres unlikely to be more, I crashed in the junior race at the black dub and fractured my spine, packed in racing after that! walls and trees aren't very forgiving! ;-)
