I skipped right past the parts of the student going on and on. Just FYI. You might consider editing things like that out.

Rather than the coffee filter,I use a non bleached organic cotton ball or “cotton round”. It works great! I do use the lab glass perc cones and I’ll never go back to a diy setup 😅 I just use the handle of a long silicone spatula to tamp the herb.

Thanks for sharing your experience with using a dropping funnel.. I often use a cotton ball, and it is much nicer. Thanks for mentioning it. All I had was coffee filters the day this was filmed.

I love this recipe but in following the calculations, wouldn’t that make it 35 mL (20+5+10)? Please advise

I really enjoy your vids. 😊 What other plant material could you use for this flavonoid syrup?

Thanks so much for sharing your enjoyment of my channel. Any spice herbs you like can be added, like cardamom, ginger, fennel or anise. Other flavonoid herbs are bilberry fruit, citrus peel, jujube dates, goji berries, elderberry, and schisandra. Any combination of these would be amazing.

A terrific vid. Best I’ve seen 😊 Just a thought …. Perhaps film without the participants as many things they will ask or answer will be in the comments. This will help with the continuity perhaps. A big thank you from me for all your suggestions, hints, smiles and expertise. Clare 😊

Excellent presentation. She answered questions, specifically about how much liquid is really needed. I had to watch five others before finding this one that answered all my questions.

I would rather use a valve than the plastic lid. What are the valves called like the one on the wine bottle there? Are there other valves for the bottle you can recommend?
@acornschoolofherbalmedicine

In this set up I am using a ball valve. A needle valve often works even better.

Alcohol up to 100% is 50% water 50% alcohol, so the water soluble aspects are also drawn into the water.

I think you meant 100 proof. I use 80 proof which is 40% alcohol and 60% water so it draws out both aspects.
