Hi, do you remember what is the diameter of the srew that you have used?
@VinylRescue2 күн бұрын
I no longer use that tonearm as I replaced it with a RB300 that I got off eBay. The outer diameter of the screw threads is 1/8 inch. It's about the same size or a smidge smaller than the magnet itself. I believe part of my anti-skate problems were due to the OCC wiring I was using was too stiff for the sensitivity of the tonearm. But, the overall magnet anti-skate is crap IMHO!

I've made mention and showed in a recent video how I set my anti-skate, but I've not made a video dedicated on how to set it. There are many out there and some disagree on how to set it up. I prefer to get it to float half way in the middle of a blank LP.

I would like to see how you route your cables for the sut and pre amp. I fancy the little bear t11 also, i need to be sure i make the right choice with these two. I dont have soldering skills.so what upgrades shall i miss?

I don't have a photo or video available to show you how to connect the SUT, but you can email me and I'll send a short video clip on how it's connected. [email protected] The T11 upgrades I believe are well worth it. It makes it quieter and sound better, especially with the Electro-Harmonix tubes.

Nothing about a sut upgrade? Why not?
@VinylRescueАй бұрын
What exactly are you asking? Upgrade? These are not meant to be modified to include a SUT if that's what your intending. 🤔 Here's the SUT I bought: www.ebay.com/itm/273414021444
@marcusbrown1767Ай бұрын
@VinylRescue I was told today I could use this same sut between the turntable and pre amp. I don't understand which would be grounded? Also the tonearm cable would run to the sut, but not all Jack's on the pre amp would be connected? Something is missing..
@marcusbrown1767Ай бұрын
Ok, what about a moving coil addition to this unit? Or sut? I know its possible, but i havent been told how. Thanks.

@@marcusbrown1767 I have a step up transformer that I bought off of eBay that works great with it. It goes between the turntable and the preamp.

@marcusbrown1767Ай бұрын
@@VinylRescue do you have a Pic of the sut you used? Thanks.
@marcusbrown1767Ай бұрын
@VinylRescue this does not answer the question. If the sut accepts the ground and left and right channel, then the pre amp lacks the left and right channel. This does not make sence, and would not work..

Great insights. I have an SL-D2 that will not hold it's pitch steady. I have, on top of cleaning the contacts of the pitch adjustment wheel, replaced about EVERY radial capacitor on the board. Same problem persists. Any ideas, I'm kind of at a loss now with this one !
@VinylRescue2 ай бұрын
I did find the adjustment holes for the pots on top! If you take the mat off and align one of the two holes on the platter next to the strobe glass you will see the holes for the adjustment pots (look down through the hole). You will need a small flat tipped screwdriver to adjust them. You don't need to take it apart like I did. After working on a few more turntables I found out most of them have a way to adjust the pitch from the top. I hope this helps!

Just something I noted: the cantilever on the replacement stylus is longer than on the original, therefore it is less suited for use in a T4P arm. Especially if it's a linear tracker, so just be aware of that.

I did the screw mod with my P1. I put a Nag MP200 on it and needed to adjust. It's an easy, badass mod. Still planning on either buying a P3 or an rb330 and installing it.
@VinylRescue2 ай бұрын
I'm now thinking part of the problem was the wiring I used. It's stiffer than the Cardas wiring and not as flexible and probably caused my anti-skate issues. I would have loved to get the RB330, but the price was way out of my budget since it nearly cost the same as my P2 when I bought it new. 😳
