Seals eat fish. Sharks eat seals. This has been nature's way for billions of years. If humans place themselves near these animals and in the right circumstances, they will be attacked. Sharks don't discriminate. If they are hungry, they will eat what is available.

Great Whites typical behavior is to hunt in shallow water usually at dawn & dusk and often but not always, when it's murky or cloudy conditions.

The full video shows the seal back in the water a few seconds later. The shark was waiting and got the seal. It's almost like the seal knew he was doomed so he was like "Well, let's get this over with."

to imagine whats lurking down there and could be only 3 feet away from your swim, or anywhere in the shoreline and outwards in the great beyond. Its so vast out there in the deep. I'm not used to swimming in oceans so when I do it can feel a little eerie and even spooky. Esp viz conditions are really poor.

You don't have to fear great white sharks. As long as you aren't in their territory resembling a seal, their favorite meal. Whether on surfboards, kayaks, or diving in a full body wetsuit, with a hood and flippers. That's when you are asking for trouble. Great whites dont want us humans. So let the shark know you are a human, by wearing the typical bathing suits.
