If you go to Kansas you need to know that everyone that lives there thinks there the reason they have trophy deer they all believe the 1/4 acre food plot is the reason monster bucks has been taken there for the past 50 years and second most of the land is leased to scum bag guides who are to lazy to work a real job and the bow hunting council sets the seasons where only the bow hunters gets to hunt when the deer are moving I guess this is to make up for them crippling and losing 50 percent of the deer they shoot...... Hopefully this helps

I know that exact location, I killed a big buck there in 2019 and a giant 8 point in 23. I’ll be back there opening week, about 40-50 yards from that same tree.

Man, what a great looking place. Where and what was this shoot? Had to be a blast. I enjoy using my hunting setup in places like this rather my 3-d rig. It’s awesome practice for spot and stalk which is my favorite tactic. I use a three pin slider set at 30-40-50 which has worked great for me. What’s good about this video and you guys to me is you guys actually know how to use a release. No punching. Awesome. 👍👍

It was at Arrowhead State Park. A company called “SHOT- The 3D Experience” put it on and has a few other events they do as well in OK and AR. They have info on their website and social media. It was a good time and good practice for those situations like you mentioned! Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment!

What camo you guys wear im trying to to find some good quality hunting clothes for those late october November morning
@WhitetailMission9 ай бұрын
In terms of brands, we’ve used a mix of Scentlok, Nomad, First Lite, etc. If you’re looking for a warm suit, I just used the Scentlok Hydrotherm bib and parka and loved it. There’s a review video of it on our channel. I try to show as many details about the suit as I can.

@@WhitetailMission okay awesome I just watched the review on the bibs and jacket they look like quality clothes my dad always used scentlok back in the day and swore by it i never used it myself but I'll have to give it a try thanks
@notdonnnn9 ай бұрын
After 6months how has the parka and bib been doing for you?
@WhitetailMission9 ай бұрын
Great! My only complaints are the cuffs on the parka are a little tight, but it’s good when it’s cold. I had one end of the leg buttons pop out on the bib, but I’m going to have it fixed. Somewhat frustrating that it happened in the first season of owning them.

You guys are awesome for sharing such great information. I just started hunting other states 4 years ago. I have scored a buck in PA but I am still looking for my first OH buck. I hunt a lot of Public Land in NYS around the Finger Lakes. I plan to apply for a nonresident Kansas deer Hunting license for the the fall of 2025. It is about a 20 hour drive and I plan to sleep in my truck while I am out there in mid/late November. What are the options for camping on Public Lands in Kansas? What did you guys do for sleeping? Do you have any other suggestions for sleeping? Curt WhiteTALES Deer Hunting
@WhitetailMission9 ай бұрын
No problem at all! We hope it helps! We’ve done just about all of it. WIHA properties don’t allow camping, but the wildlife areas have places you can and some of the towns throughout Kansas have camp areas. Another option could be lakes if there’s any lakes by where you go. We’ve slept in our trucks at places as well. Depending on weather, we’ve also stayed in hotels/motels. So we’ve done just about all of it!

@@WhitetailMission Absolutely. I am finally upgrading from my shitty little Canon Vixia handicam to a Canon Vixia G70. Not the camera I would like to buy, but it’s what I can afford. I am excited to have a better camera. After 3 years of self filming I am still loving it even though it screwed me on 2 bucks this year. Live and learn. Super challenging but I was fortunate enough to shoot the biggest buck of my life last year, on Public land in NY.

Nice video, agree on everything you said. Agree on the ground hunting. I am a travel hunter since I live in San Diego. First trip to Kansas it was private land with set stands. Saw lots of deer, but totally artificial over corn. I didn't like that trip. Next trip, I did all public, solo and thought I'd be in my harness, but actually spent very little time in it. The best spots had thick nasty trees and low cover, not hardwood canopies. Ground hunting is phenomenal in Kansas. So many times I just tucked into the thick nasty stuff downwind of hot sign and trails using just a simple camo screen and brushing it in. Way more deer, way more fun, easier to call in, and I had many, many deer within 10 feet (not yards) that I passed on and they just milled around for minutes. leaving never knowing I was there. Awesome. I highly recommend a portable decoy to get them to turn and stare away from your ground set up. Also, get a lightweight, non-thread type ghillie suit and put it on once you set up your blind. Threads will get briars and be ruined in one use.
@WhitetailMission10 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! Love the response. We’re slowly getting into the decoy side of hunting. No success yet, but we need to use it more!
