I too have never had the chance to season wood in log form. Perhaps stored of skids off the ground in the middle of a field the Nc sun would do a good job baking it, I just don’t have those conditions at my place

Black walnut is good for smoking fish and meat, but it is a little bitter and should be mixed with other woods. Better alternative is black wild cherry which really comes out when smoking salmon.

Nothing built like that anymore. The wood you put on there in 16 probably won’t last half the time as the wood you used in the 80s, this is cool thanks for sharing!

We can’t get them down here without paying and arm and a leg. I see them out in Boonville and Jonesville for cheaper.
