(Short version) First, I download the song and upload it to Moises to split tracks (vocals, bass, drums, synths). Then, I decided on my approach based on the song. Sometimes, I improvise on drums or guitar to come up with ideas, recording these for reference, or I start directly programming the main parts in Anvil Studio (for MIDI). I upload the MIDI to Cakewalk to enhance it with VSTs, making instruments sound realistic. Once tracks are exported, I start a new Cakewalk "recording save," adding drums/bass/vocals and recording guitar. I adjust levels, add effects, and export vocal and instrumental versions, then use Audacity for final touches. After feedback, I upload to "musicvid".org, then download and publish them on KZbin. This process helps me experiment with production, sometimes recreating parts or, when short on time, splicing basics from the original. (Long Rambling Incoherent Version) I start by downloading the song I'd be working on (in this case rover) I then upload it to "Moises" where it splits the song into different tracks (vocals, bass, drums, synth, etc. this makes it easier to hear certain parts when programming them in) then it varies from song to song Sometimes, I'll listen to the song while playing the drums or guitar and try to come up with riffs, beats, or general ideas. Then, I'll record that and use it as a reference when midi-ing, or I will skip that part and go straight to midi-ing out the basic tracks (drums, bass, piano, synths, strings, etc.). I do this mostly on "Anvil Studio" a midi software. (midi is just programming out musical notes and what not) then upload the midi to "Cakewalk by Band Labs" which is my DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) and I use VSTs to make the midi instruments sound less 8-bit and more real more recently (like with New Woman by Lisa) I'll program the parts straight into Cakewalk, (just trying new methods out) I prefer to use anvil first as of right now Then I export/print the real-sounding tracks and start a "recording save" in Cakewalk where I import drums/bass/vocals and record the guitar parts then I will add all the other tracks and save it as a new file called "Mix" (ill later save multiple copies like Mixv1 or Mixv2) I'll start getting the levels where I want them and add effects edit the drums or bass or guitar maybe add some sound FX or risers/impacts and then export a vocal and instrumental version, I will then import it to Audacity and set its audio level to whatever it deems to be balanced/add fade ins and fade outs and export again. after this ill send it to my sister or a friend and get their opinion on the mix and once they give me the green light (or tell me its garbage) ill fix it/upload it to a website called "musicvid".org fill out the settings and then upload both the vocal and instrumental to KZbin! I try my best to recreate parts (as I use this channel as a learning tool to experiment with music/audio production/mixing and a bunch of stuff) but sometimes I'm lazy and just slice something from the original and just add the basics sorry for sending a book thank you for asking tho c: id be happy to answer any other questions you might have!
