This ship needs more firepower, a couple AA sea sparrow rocket platforms, & 1 or 2 small multipurpose externally mounted rocket launching platforms for both surface combat missiles and anti-sub missiles would do the trick. 😎👍🇨🇦🦫🍁⚓️

We strongly need a bigger more powerful navy and air force to cover vast land rather than an army. Army is pointless

Lmfao they gave these guys the NBP course over hard sea trades. Or they couldn’t find enough people for minimum load so they had to port in NEP. Regardless the navy is so pathetic now. Everyone I know that’s in is just taking advantage of it.

First off who give s a toss about the numbers of visible minorities and aboriginal sailors your at critical shortages they are Canadian citizens and other then being Canadian the rest is some noise and bullshit. So stop the stupidity and concentrate on training and pay. Also don’t drive the ones you already have out trying to fill holes. And stop answering the call of weak governmenents that automatically send a ship because it’s a visible thing they can do. That’s 250 life’s interrupted on something not necessary. I would submit that maybe more should be done on coastal and artic defence with armed heavy duty ice breakers and small attack boats fast and incredibly armed like the Norwegians do. Smaller crews and more home time are just some benefits. And make the job a career again and take the politics out career. Just a couple of thoughts. One last one I watched to many recruits come in and sit around for long periods because training is avaiable. Even worse people who go to recruiting are looking for a job now I don’t know how many people I have met who have said I applied and couldn’t wait for a year and a half for a job so they end up in a job and not the navy. If someone applies it should take three months max before they are off to basic training and if a shore class isn’t avaiable then straight to ship to learn as they go until the next class. I think actually recruiting which they seem to want to address is the worse logjam it should be a short turn around.

Nice to see a pair of 20mm Phalanx system besides its four .50 HMGs. De Wolfe arctic patrol vessels, another non combatant RCN vessel, deserves a good CIWS midships too. Which is presently missing!

The issue is that young English white males made up the Canadian forces for the majority of its existence; in the last 20 years Canada has done just about everything it can to devalue them; hence they are no longer putting their lives on the line. It's not that hard to understand.
