Hey everyone a good website for determining package dependencies is packagemanager.posit.co/client/#/. You can set your system to whatever linux distribution, choose the R environment, and then lookup the packages used in scripts for the container. The packages will then tell you the necessary libraries you would need to import. Hope it helps!

In my opinion, I think these dashboarding packages are just a baggage that don't add anything of value to the design of a shiny app while severely limiting the flexibility of the UI. Just learn shiny well and then some HTML and CSS. If you feel a little more fancy, use *shinyjs* to add more interactivity. For the dashboarding itself, I found a package called *bslib* that does miracles while not getting into your way.

The elo system has three outcomes - win, loss and draw. Thus it may not apply in cases where there are only decisive outcomes. Also there is an improvement on elo named glicko (and glicko2). Check out the PlayerRatings package. You might find a better fit there for your type of study.

The Elo rating system comes from the chess world, It takes it's name from the creator, Arpad Elo.

I've noticed that few of these R packages, and data science more generally, seem to pay much attention to basic conventions for accessibility. I teach my students when using Excel to use multiple kinds of lines (linetypes in R) if they are also coloring their lines in a line graph. While that can be done in ggplot2, it never looks very good. I appreciate that R is free and can do many things, and can more easily mass-produce output than Excel. Still, the R community seems to be less concerned about accessibility and presentability than I would have expected. I suppose if the graph is really important, you'll hire a graphic designer or use a staff cartographer to make the images publication-ready? In any case, thanks for the video. The library of extensions might solve a problem I have.
