This was pretty good. Straight forward viewpoint of their success with hyperbole. The creators and their writers really have a knack for taking the piss out of everybody. Learning of what scientology actually is from this sort of show and for it to be true was nuts. Few walked away from the Simpsons with that sort of info.

The streamingwars have made spongebob not just the face of nick but also in large parts Paramount the company. The superbowl adds show that clearly too, I think. And he is definity company face material on par with something like Mario or Mickey even if still young. Even the show itself bases a lot of it's appeal now in reminding you about those old episodes more than anything, as does any videogame featuring spongebob.

Spongebob, Shrek, Garfield, Dora, Bluey, Lightning McQueen, Paw Patrol, and Hello Kitty are the most popular cartoon characters right now. At least in terms of marketing. Mickey Mouse is a more unusual case. Because Mickey Mouse is public domain. Yet he's also not public domain. The really old stuff like Plane Crazy and Steamboat Willie _finally_ became public domain. When in reality, it should've been public domain 40 years ago. But more recent stuff like Mickey Mouse Clubhouse isn't. Also, Mickey as a corporate mascot, will never become public domain (for as long as the Walt Disney Company continues to use him as such).

That’s why Stephen Hillenburg wanted the show to end after the first movie but no Nickelodeon had to go against his wishes which is why Spongebob is still in production and ruining The Network. I’m sorry but it’s true, He’s gotta make like a tree and leave.

I love everything about him, his design, his personality and his struggle, he is just so adorable and appealing for some reasons (Not enough people calls him adorable). Honestly, he is what I wished Mickey Mouse was if he had his own stand alone half length shows a la Ducktales.

I know this is about Spongebob, but I feel like Mickey entering the public domain became something of a missed opportunity. So much talking about how much potential the public domain offers, yet when the potential actually arises then besides the horror movies there was a webcomic that went on hiatus after a month, a couple indie game appearances, and not a whole lot else I could see. The horror movies might suck as movies but they at least work as a sort of field test to see what happens if he actually gets used in something relatively major

I don’t know any good original Disney shows that premiered earlier this year or will premiere sometime this year, but Rock Paper Scissors is the best original Nickelodeon show I’ve seen in forever. It’s literally the only show I ever watch on that channel, I surprised myself saying this because I grew up with Cartoon Network, but Rock Paper Scissors is better than most Cartoon Network shows.
