@bobby22922 ай бұрын
The short answer is, yes I would recommend Neoprene seat covers. I did a 3 minute 12 month review on the covers which you can find here. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jHSQlIt7grKoe80 Three months after that review the seat cover are in really good nick. I'm pleased that I went with Neoprene.

@connortraynor1643 I should not have answered your question while still suffering the affects from a head knock I received in a football match. The 86 has a very easy life and I doubt it's gone intentionally over the speed limit for years. Everyone has those moments when they're sitting in the flow of traffic and they look at the speedo and they're over because everyone is slightly over the limit, so you drop back to the limit and everyone zooms past. That's it for me nowadays. I got it as my more daring days were coming to an end. However, you don't have to break the speed limit to have fun in the corners. If I got it twenty years ago it probably would have spent most of its time, way north. If that's what you're asking. Back then I was into some hard core off roading and my old truck couldn't go much faster than 95klms. Probably just as well.

Any sizing tips?
@bobby22927 ай бұрын
Unlike other shoes/boots that may be made in two or more factories around the world, Copas are only made in one place so if you have tried them on and know your size, you can buy them from any supplier in the world and they will fit. This allows you to chase the sales. I don't think I've ever seen Copas at a reasonable sale price here in Australia. It's always a risk buying shoes that you haven't tried on as I found with other Adidas shoes. I find that other Adidas styles (Samba for example) are too narrow for me.

Yes the headrests were standard in the 1972 onwards HQ Holden Kingswood because my dad used to drive a metallic lime green wagon which he bought in 1980. It ran the 202 cubic inch 6 cylinder engine & Tri Matic automatic transmission,ut had the optional ROH mag wheels fitted & one thing which wasn't found too often in the wagons,an electric rear tailgate window. Yes they rusted out pretty bad & my dad had his on the road for 12 or 13 years until it ran out of rego,it sat in the backyard after my dad sold the engine, front bench seats,mag wheels, etc then he gas axed it with an oxy acetylene cutting torch because it was just full of rust & he couldn't afford the registration for 2 cars. It was my favourite model of Kingswood & it was all of the Holdens which suffered badly from rust until at least the VN Commodore,I have cut rust out of my VY SS Commodores body but it hasn't suffered as badly from rust & it was kept outside for about 12 years,I have had that car for 16 years this year !

I'm afraid I'm not going to be of any help to you. We initially tried to figure out how to get the machine sewing but our lack of knowledge and an inability to find information lead us to giving up and having the machine as a display only. I also believe there may be a crucial piece or two missing which threw us also. I honestly don't know what replacement shuttle, bobbin and needle it uses. I wish you luck in your endeavour. 100 plus years of lost knowledge or missing information is quite a mountain to climb.

THank you for getting back to me. Ive watched your video a few times. It is so pretty too. Sorry to hear that its missing pieces. It is really hard learning for me also but Im trying since I really want to sew with mine. . If you decide to get it going again Im learning of lots or resources. Maybe I could help you someday. I see now you actually have 7 bobbins, one in the machine and 6 in the little box. Would you possibly be willing to part with one or two of them and a spare needle? I would love to be able to get mine in service and using it to sew. YOu would have more than enough to use it if you try again at getting it to work and I could get my machine sewing that works perfectly I just don't have those parts for it to put it to use. Usually people like two bobbins at a min who sew a lot, one to sew one to fill up to replace the one you are sewing with so you don't have to stop everything you are doing. I would be thrilled if you would consider that. . Maybe if I learn enough I could even help you with video chat, mine is not broken but it will be a lot to learn about it and maybe I can learn enough to help you or point you in the right direction. Anyway, beautiful machine and thanks for the video! @@bobby2292

Really good choice. Totally agree. Despite not having a hood, I think the lightweight is a more practical choice. Just as waterproof and it packs down smaller. Of the two, I much prefer the lightweight (no hood).

Around 4:40 is the incorrect use of the screws. The flathead/phillips need only be fingernail tight, it is by tightening the plastic knobbed screw that you actually clamp the blade. Also strokes with any pressure applied should be made toward the blade, not back and forth 🙂

If I'm not mistaken, on the headrest fitment where you mention the white velcro is not so effective - this only a temporary layer which is there to assist with fitment, peel it off will expose the actual velcro.

Hi Bobby I have a couple of questions about the open flash tablet . Did you use the OTS tunes that they provided or do you have to get one made for you? I cant seem to get any information about this
@bobby2292 Жыл бұрын
Please note that my Open Flash experience was 5 years ago so I can only talk to that. I used a preloaded tune that best suited the exhaust that is fitted to my car. If you check out my video on the Open Flash at 3:12 you can see the list of preloaded tunes that were available 5 years ago. kzbin.info/www/bejne/p5eThWynh8-neKs At that time I had a few questions and I found the Open Flash guys very helpful and they responded quickly to my queries. Looking at the Toyota 86 Open Flash page on their website, it looks like the tablet is preloaded but I believe that if you went to their support page and submitted a ticket with any questions you have, they'd get back to you.

I just bought this very same machine! Thanks for posting this video. Is it difficult to open the face plate for cleaning?
@bobby2292 Жыл бұрын
Do you mean, open it to clean the moving parts underneath the base plate? If so, go to 3:42 on my video and you will see a bolt under the 3 and 2 of the serial number at the bottom of the screen. Unscrew it anti clockwise and the base should lift up. It is quite heavy. Our machine also has a pin cushion which is attached to the timber base to the right of the securing bolt which has to be swung away from the metal base as it stops the base from lifting. Good luck with your wonderful old machine.

Ouch. To pay AUD $14400.00 or even $2500.00 for insurance you'd have to be doing a lot more to your car than upping the power by somewhere between 15 and 20 kilowatts. I'd imagine that insurance anywhere in the world is a minefield of risk factors. The less risk for the insurance company, the cheaper the insurance. We do have specialist insurance here in OZ and they are very good. Owned and run by enthusiasts for enthusiasts.
