Hey Kevin! Wow! What a great year 1985 was for movies. 100% agree on number one. Weird Science was a cool thought for dweebs as myself 🤣 I used to love watching the tv show in the 90s. I can’t believe “Breakfast Club” is your number 5. Your other picks were pretty solid but I would’ve had The Goonies as 2. I’m so glad they haven’t made a remake of that movie because I cherish it as is. All the characters are so likable and the villains are dumb and funny to follow. And the kid with the gadgets and Feldman translating Spanish, makes me want to watch it again. “Chunk, chunk, chunk” my siblings, my 21 year old daughter and I love this movie. Blessings bro!

Imo the movie was as great as the original. Maybe even crazier than the original. Not sure how someone in the comment said they were “underwhelmed”. The practical effects are great. The humor was great. I also felt like the movie was gorier than the original which was awesome. My only flaw with the movie is that it was slightly stuffy with the plot lines but overall that didn’t ruin my experience. The original movie also had its share of flaws as well. 8/10 for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice for me.

Hey Kevin an American Werewolf In London is a dark Horror movie that is what a faithful Rated R very dark adaptation of The Mask would be. The Mask is a very dark hardcore violent comic book similar to Sin City because Stanley Ipkiss after putting on the Mask is similar to a Werewolf because of being a supernatural creature that has no inhibitions and no conscious so it can easily murder without remorse similar to Mr.Hyde.

Kevin! Happy belated birthday bro. May the Lord bless you with many more healthy years ahead. I thought this sequel was funny. We got laughs so I am content with it. I really enjoyed all the cast. Great job casting all those actors. Keaton and Dafoe are two of my favorites. I do wish it would’ve been longer so it could’ve expanded more on Belluci’s character. My negatives were that the movie was all over the pace trying to explain too much in too little time. First came here just to see how high 48 Hours would be on the 1982 list. Newcomer Eddie Murphy and Nick Nolte as the veteran cop. James Remar as Ganz. Classic bad guy, 80's style. Then, a day late and a dollar short, I decided on giving a shout out out to Sharky's Machine which should have made the 1981 list; and, arguably, is the first great violent buddy cop movie with large doses of comedy. Burt Reynold's cool, macho, sensitive and funny. Charles Durning. Brian Keith. Bernie Casey all portray veteran cops. Great argumentative dialogue. But, Walter Hill's action footage in San Fran are superior works of action art, especially, by the time the back alleys of Chinatown are being prowled. Gotta love 48 Hours. If anyone is interested in a cult movie I'm mentioning Q The Winged Serpent, also, from 1982. It's B-movie budget shows in the giant bird monster living at the top of the Chrysler Bldg, occasionally plucking people from their high rise rooftop pools et cetera after being awakened by, well, a religious cult. Surprising amounts of humor revolves around the great performance by Michael Moriarty as the con-man trying to go legit ... but he's a career "never paid taxes" type of New Yorker. Movie has a true, somewhat bizarre NY soul complete with gore, comedy and David Carradine and Fred Williamson as the sparring cops trying to piece together the bizarre NYC deaths.

Escape From New York is a Science Fiction post apocalyptic action movie with Snake having to rescue the US President while overcoming obstacles including foes in the unsafe Post Apocalyptic New York City. I’ve heard the very flimsy criticism that a faithful Double Dragon movie based on the original Double Dragon arcade game can’t be made because not not much of a plot with the Lee Brothers having to rescue Marian from Willy and his brigade. That same criticism could have been said about Escape From New York which also has a protagonist that has a rescue a captured character goal in Post Apocalyptic New York City. That’s why the whole criticism that a very faithful Rated R Double Dragon can’t be made because not much plot is inane because multiple movies have been made that have a protagonist or protagonists that have a rescue mission goal. Also Streets Of Fire was mostly a faithful Double Dragon movie.

Hey Kevin it seems likely that the movie protagonist Indiana Jones was inspired by the badass real archeologist and explorer Percy Fawcett. That is a great 'down memory lane' list. I was at a baseball game today with HS friends and we started quoting "... you, Lee Harvey ... when you stole that cow ... and you and your friends tried to ... I wanna' party with you ... you and me...?" Did Murray ad-lib. a lot?😅 or what?! BUT, this does give me a chance to point out one of the most neglected, underrated, forgotten "Wolf" movies of all-time, let alone 1981: WOLFEN. It stars Albert Finney (who was very convincing as a NY cop despite being British). Great storyline: Could the deaths of random homeless people be connected to the murder of a wealthy socialite couple surrounding the Bronx? Another movie from 1981 seemed to be a hit on cable and co-starred Mel Gibson before he was famous. It was directed by Australian Peter Weir and is based on a true WW 1 story: GALLIPOLI. Admittedly, a downer, but a well done anti-war movie.
