The Sun Life building on Dorchester Square was completed in 1931, having been started in 1913. It was built in different stages, with the additional towers added in 1931. St George's Anglican Cathedral occupied the Sun Life site, a much smaller church then, and it was built in it's present form during the mid Nineteenth Century.

thanks so much for doing these types of videos... i used to walk downtown alot, mostly the commercial sector along St-Catherine between Berri and Guy thereabouts (and St-Denis, the Quartier Latin). i used to do artistic window paintings for special occasions like Halloween & Christmas, from 2001-2010. Then i got a full-time job and abandoned the painting. Lived on Masson for 8 years and loved it. Been working from home, living in RDP since the pandemic and have only been downtown a handful of times since then, strictly out of necessity... in fact i hardly go out at all anymore. Watching your video, i see how much has changed; i don't miss going downtown but i miss being younger and more outgoing. Well, sort of... being a homebody in my solitude is like a nice warm blanket :)

Wow seriously they do a new mall instead helping people on the streets. Very poor decision. People needs foods and water and a home. What are you thinking about ? You just want fooling your packets of money ? Very bad decision.

Its time to start to try showing other areas of Montreal that are as live. For those doing the summertime season, yes downtown is obviously for its shopping strips, underground malls and of course all the festivals. But many nice neighborhood are popping. Plateau, they close the whole Mont-Royal streets, bunch of bars and terraces, shops and its young vibrant. Griffintown, a new neighbhorhood thats buzzing, lots of resto and live streets. Notre Dame (St-Henri), where are the new restos are in, hipster vibes with a lot of terraces. Just saying. At least make sure to do your research when you come visit us :)

A city which was vibrant in the 1950s, in competition with New York, has become since 1967, under the blows of Quebec socialist nationalists (20% of Quebec...) a pitiful town in 2025 , and a hotbed of ideas for Moroccans and the Algerians...
