Video Summary: The video provides historical context for the book "Of Mice and Men" by discussing the Great Depression and the struggles faced by Americans during that time, including unemployment, poverty, and the Dust Bowl. It highlights the shattered American Dream, the isolation and loneliness experienced by individuals, and the exploitation of desperate workers. - 00:00 The video provides historical context for the book "Of Mice and Men" by discussing the Great Depression and the Roaring 20s. - 02:44 The Great Depression was a worldwide economic crisis where there were massive amounts of unemployment and death, and there were no safety net programs to provide for people when they fell on hard times. - 05:24 The American Dream, which is the idea of opportunity and success in the United States, was shattered during the Great Depression. - 08:12 During the Great Depression, many unemployed workers were begging for jobs and money, including veterans of World War I, and the Dust Bowl worsened the situation by causing massive dust storms that destroyed millions of acres of farmland. - 10:58 In the Great Depression, families were split up due to poverty, leading to isolation and loneliness. - 13:43 During the Great Depression, migrant workers in California were exploited and faced poor conditions, low pay, and sometimes no pay at all for their hard labor.

*_At best, FDR's speech is redundant ... if not largely NONSENSICAL._* ALL FOUR "FREEDOMS" are already addressed, positively or negatively, in our Unanimous Declaration of 1776. First and foremost this Declaration prioritizes our CERTAIN UNALIENABLE RIGHTS ... over the self-serving wants and desires of an oppressive STATE; where, in our USA, the GOVT is NOT here to tax Peter so that it can transfer the wealth to Paul; rather, in our American System, put into place long before FDR, Paul, just like all citizens, is to address his own "wants". Plainly, our GOVT was not intended and NEVER designed to be there to ensure our freedom "from want"; such is GOVT fascism, socialism, or communism, which, by definition, is oppressive. Lastly, freedom from fear, as a GOVT responsibility, is beyond sheer NONSENSE. Where would such end? Freedom from giant white rabbits; freedom from spiders; what would be next? *_What are you teaching these young people? May GOD help us all._* *_PS: The FDR speech was largely NONSENSE and so is your analysis. I have not an idea of what you are bout --- but, from this video, it sure doesn't look good --- but, this is no surprise regarding FDR, who, by his policies, showed himself to be TEXTBOOK FASCIST. Sadly, so few people recognize this fact; where, IMO, such is direct evidence that they have poorly developed, if any, critical thinking skills._*

FDR never mentioned it during the course of his speech, but key members of Congress understood that the Four Freedoms speech was an attack on the British Empire. The British were very upset by the speech and demanded to know what FDR meant when he said they applied "everywhere". This is because the British Empire is built on the enslavement of people in their native countries. FDR and Churchill had heated debates on what the post war world would like. Churchill wanted a continuation of Empire and FDR wanted independent nation states based on the American model of Democracy and Capitalism. Behind closed doors, FDR pressed Churchill on granting India independence after the war was over. After a particularly heated argument, Churchill later remarked, “The President’s mind was back in the late 18th century because he thought of India as 13 colonies fighting King George”. Jai Bharath (God Bless India) and God Bless America.

It truly was heartbreaking to hear the teacher-narrator say that, knowing that it WAS totally unimaginable when he filmed this! A mere 6 years ago, I think it said? It’s devastating. To hear each step of how Fascist governments are created explained so succinctly makes it glaringly obvious what this nation is becoming and may, in fact, already be... it’s simply terrifying, AND LOTS OF PEOPLE DO NOT REALIZE IT IS HAPPENING.

What happens when you take each generation of degradation of civil liberties and unalienable freedoms, implemented by only political figures, for over 300 years. The freedoms and liberties disappear, vanish, and we are left with nothing in america. Except indoctrinated and enslaved people who dont even know they are not free.

Slavery was not the main issue for the North to go to war but it was for the South seceding as they wanted slavery preserved-this is documented from their politicians.

The King's Colours Royal Union Flag was not banned in The USA it was still held in Cultural regard as the pride and protest of the Northern sector of the US. This was what was an instigation of what lead up to the Civil War!
