It's - without a doubt - my favorite scene because, to me, one of the most important aspects of their lovestory is to finally see Peyton stop downplaying her feelings for Lucas. Basically, it has always been Lucas waiting for Peyton to love him back. As a viewer, it was not really a surprise that he was still in love with her.

Hilarie Burton said that while filming this episode is when all of a sudden, their producer Greg Prange announced to everyone how the show had been picked up and then Chad looked at her and asked if she had even gotten an offer? and she was like No, and then he said I haven't even gotten an offer, and then she said that everyone around them were celebrating, while they just sat there and that she asked the producer if he could call the Creator and his other co-workers and ask them to come down to set since they were in town so that they could explain to her and Chad about what was going on and that they refused to talk to them and instead they take some actors out to dinner and she wraps work by taking off that stupid wig and she feels a sense of betrayal, even though she had known that it was coming and that her and Chad were on the chopping block since they were the highest paid actors on the show, but that she couldn't believe that this was how they found out that they weren't coming back.
