Honestly, I've been priced out of the market for a while now. Over ten years ago I bought a Switch Marc Jacobs pro model board for 360 euro (complete with pads and everything). I was able to kite back then with my side-job whilst in high school. Now, as a student, I'm still riding the gear I bought back then, as the new as well as the second hand market is too expensive for me to upgrade. If this is a budget option, then the sport has turned elitist. I'm all for innovation, but it would be nice if kiting companies were more conscious of what their trajectory means for entrance into the sport. It seems that only Gong and decathlon are doing so.

Cool review. It's quite incredible that 850 Euro is now ""low budget", but I get it. I think your best argument is that this board will be the one that 80% of riders can do everything with (I don't even think you said that, but I'm going to assume that). Otherwise, two mediocre boards, even if they are cheaper individually will be more than one good one that is your go to. Biggest thing to remember is that it's all about skill and time on the water, and not necessarily about the gear. Best of luck to everyone and great wind wherever you are. What they don't tell you is they actually produce it for 15 euro 🤣 Prices going up prevent more people entering this sport, that's a bad thing in the end. With loads of Kota athletes hardly earning any money with kitesurfing. If you want the sport to grow you need more people in it, not more expensive equipment.

Hello Ben great video! Why are you using the Spectrum Foils and not a Vert from Core? I thought they were supposed to be faster with the same lift (but unfortunately you don't hear anything about the foils). Greetings from Switzerland

Yes, you are right. They are faste... The 2150 spectrum is still my favorite go to foil for pumping. It turns very smooth and still is not too slow 😁

in switzerland this is not legal, one must keep 50 meter distance from the boat, in case of emergency stop it will full throttle backwards and suck you in

I really like your videos! As currently in Switzerland the first discussions on public ferry wave-ride regulations started, riding this close behind a ferry might trigger captains and ferry lines to limit a very funny dimension of this young sport for all of us. Success is a question of definition. You surfed a wave that was much worse than the one from the boat you went out on. Show your clickers what good foiling looks like.

@@BenBeholzVlogs AXIS art pro 1201 is a good wing for that. Or AXIS Spitfire 1180 (a bit slower, but turn better). It depend of the speed of the boat, but the boat on your video is pretty slow compare to the one I'm use to follow. So the spitfire 1180 will be ok for this one.
