Used car lots are the worst customers. I stopped doing work for them within 6 months of opening my first shop. They want stuff patched together and when their customers have problems, they are told which shop worked on it. The customer then thinks your shop is shady. Screw that. I advertised the fact we don't do work for them, and business increased. I did almost all of the new car dealership exhaust though. Never a problem with them. That dealership's been ripping off his customers for 40-50 years.

5:30 I am surprised you can see the cam sensor waveform on your scan tool. I don't recall ever seeing cam sensor waveforms on ANY scan tool as back door data.

Super Mario Diagnostics did a video on how relative compression test can be misleading on a gasoline vehicle with diesel in the tank that had cylinder wash. The waveform showed that it had uneven compression. However, a wet static compression test showed that the compression was good. I don't think it's a good idea to throw another shop under the bus based on a relative compression test. It should be followed up with a wet static compression test.

I don’t tust absolutely anyone to work on my car after being screwed my first mechanic experience and it was a family friend mechanic our family and community been using forever. I come to pick up my “fixed” car and I get it back running like shit misfiring like a sob after them doing the starter which required intake removal. When he started it my face said a million words I told him I didn’t sound like that when it was last running at all, it sounded like it was running on 3 of 6 cylinders lmao.. he had the audacity to tell me only after I said something lifted the hood and pointed to 3 loose vacuum hoses just disconnected… he literally told me “yeah the guy working on it didn’t know where these went just search it up and plug them in and it should be fine” and then expected me to pay still which I did. I literally had absolutely zero knowledge or tools to work on cars and that day I had no choice but to figure it out on my own cause I didn’t have money for another shop. That day turned me into the car guy I am td and I’m happy it did. I do everything myself with confidence in the work knowing it’s all done correctly because I take my time and research proper procedures, torque specs etc.. I don’t have a clock ticking away at me or a boss making me hurry up. When you work on your own car you can take the time to do things properly not rushed! These shops just slap in new parts zero clean up nothing. For example strut towers you think when you’re getting your new suspension on they’re sanding down rust on the strut towers and rust painting them to keep you from getting a hole and your suspension blowing through in 5 years? Well reality check they ain’t lmao it’s go go go they don’t have time to watch paint dry but I sure as hell do if I want it done right 👍🏼😉
