This record, one of Blakey's last , is evidence of his great gift of being able to present extremely talented sax & trumpet players (especially) to the jazz followers of this age . Since he'd been doing this for most of his career _ _ this outing merely confirms it .

I love this line as much today as when I first heard it . But I'm also thinking of Mulgrew Miller and am sad that he has left this life way too soon . Hope his family is dealing with the loss with the knowledge that Jehovah knows what he's doing _ _ RIP Mulgrew .

Hadn't thought about this piece in sooooo long, tooo long. Wonderful work to bring in this this New Year. I promise to revisit much of the great American music 2021. Abbey Lincoln is such a great place to start. Her work was simply too good to forget or take for granted.

An achingly beautiful song by a most underrated and distinctive artist! Thank you, Ms. Lincoln for your gifts. We appreciate your overall breadth of work. Thank you, Mr. Stan Getz, for your musicianship and artistry. God bless you both incomparable Jazz icons! Thank you and God bless all!

This is a song for the ages. The arrangement , the voice , the hope , the resignation , the perfection of lyric all bound up in so few moments , it is exquisite , it is perfect. So seldom attained, this song is perfection.
