You completely missed the beautiful historic downtown. What a shame. You need to do a remake.

If you make the drive from Wilmington to Raleigh.... Watch for "coppers" in Sampson County. They are hot n heavy 80 percent of the time. ❤❤

Edinboro has changed along Erie St-the main street through town. Many of the buildings remain from the 1800's to about 1990 or so. After that, many were replaced or torn down. As far as the businesses, they are a shadow of what was once there. It was a farming communtiy and college town, but the college is all that is left. All farming related businesses and jobs are gone. It is like the town died compared to the 50's-60's. It was a busy, bustling town back in the 60's.

If you take CS to Limon via 24, you'll pass through a town called Calhan. Little liqour storr there next to a gas station. The little lady that owns it is AMAZING. She never fails to surprise me with her selection of Bourbon. Make the trip several times a year and it's our tradition to stop in, say hi, and stock up.

While Travelers Rest has many pros, Travelers Rest is often touted as being a great small town with a small-town vibe, but there is simply no way the downtown section of TR can truly be "restful" and have a small-town vibe with a busy, noisy, four-lane road going through the middle of it. Not to mention an obvious lack of trees planted all along the roadway and not just in short sections. I am unsure why this is not super obvious to the town planners and the realtors touting Travelers Rest as some kind of idyllic small town. Makes no sense. Instead, be honest about it and fix the problem. It could be a great small-town community if the town did address this very obvious noise/traffic issue and made Travelers Rest more walkable and less vehicular friendly.

I have lived in Dowagiac, and graduated from Dowagiac Union High back in the day. You entered from the east side of town on M-62 out of Cassopolis. Turned north on to M-51, and went past the Catholic church I got married to my first wife in. Then left town towards Decatur, MI .

My brother and I, both over 60, took this hike in early June. It's straight down for about 15 minutes (and then straight up on the return) before you cross the suspension bridge. We found an elk carcass on the trail and continued for about a mile until the trail reached a ford over the Yellowstone River, but this crossing was totally impassable in high water. This is where the campsites are located. The Buffalo Plateau rose gently to our right as we descended. with bison and elk visible on the rolling broad meadows that stretched until the high forests began. Over the hill a coyote was yipping, but after reaching the top and sweeping below with binoculars, we couldn't spot him. One of the best short hikes in Yellowstone for its geographic diversity (meadows. forest, hills) and its abundance of wildlife.
