Greetings from Germany! I'm currently at a crossroad where my UK Masters in Psychology is not accredited and I'd have to do 5 more years to work clinically. Also I'm not sure I want that anymore.. your video has given me great insight and encouraged me to have a look into I/O more - thank you!

The big problem with DEI is how insufferable it's made some of my professional family members. I have a cousin who feels it's his place to have "difficult conversations" with the rest of us at inopportune times (holidays, kid's birthdays, baptisms, etc). He used to be an evangelical and it's scary how similar his approach to DEI advocacy is. DEI not only has a branding problem in media, but the advice DEI people give one another ("get in their face", taking it upon themselves to "do the work" so minorities don't feel burdened, etc) is it makes everyone not see DEI as something promoting justice but as something the worst people use to hurl stones at others. Needless to say, most of us don't talk to him anymore. I have a feeling DEI may continue to find life inside more progressive institutions (education, libraries, museums, therapy circles etc), but those institutions won't be long for this society once enough people associate those institutions with DEI.

If you have your Masters Degree in anything, then you can consider yourself an expert in that area, but if the credible definition of a Psychologist means that you have to have a PhD, you cannot just decide to diminish anyone that has put their time and money into earning the right to call themselves a “Psychologist”. Otherwise anyone can do that for any field…why do Doctors need Medical Degrees then, why not just let them get a “Masters in Medicine” and keep the title?

I just became aware of this DEI in the Work Place , and I had no idea that there is so many folks out in our Country Hating this type of Equality. It makes me very scared and concerned about if our Work Place will be safe for all individuals no mater who theya are. I believe in Civil Rights and Equality for all no matter who they chose to identify them selfs as. I volunteer for the Los Angeles ACLU and I,ll be going on a Trip at the end of this Month with more then 2500 LGBTQ individuals. I am definitely going to share awareness to this Emergency attack that is Dangerous against People who want to destroy Equality. I appreciate you so much for making this Video, I support you 100%, please continue to share DEI and its Benefit and safeguard for all in the work place. " Civil Liberty & Justice for all should be Empowered, Not Hate against those that are seen as different, We all have talents and skills and should be used according to our Gifts. I used to be considered 'woke ' and a believer of DEI, but like most beautiful movements, once they get too big they get corrupted by power and bad actors. Like many others, I've been on the left my entire life, and this new far-left 'woke' movement has destroyed the left side of politics and pushed me to the middle, and I'll no longer vote Democratic. The woke movement can be summed up in one word: Hypocrisy -Woke means to judge people by the color of their skin and not the content of their character, and is making the problems of racism worse-not better. This woke cult consists of sheep-minded people who have been brainwashed, and it's become the exact same as Christianity. It's based on beliefs that are founded on faith and fake virtue-signaling, and people will attack anyone who disagrees with them as morally inferior. All you do is spread division and hate, and make culture wars worse. Here's a list of why I left the woke movement: 1. Sex/gender being taught to pre-pubescent kids. 2. children getting gender surgery when their identity isn't even fully developed yet, which could be called a form of child abuse. 3. biological men in women's sports, 4. Fighting sexism by being sexist 5. Fighting racism by being racist 6. saying there's an endless amount of genders which makes the LGBTQ community look like a circus, 7. shows/films/games having no respect for source material & sci-fi/fantasy is being destroyed, 8. the 'defund' the police movement sounds so stupid that it takes away from the importance of police 'reform', 9. environmental protestors stopping pedestrian cars and pissing off normal people trying to get to work is clearly turning people away from the need for environmentalism rather than helping the cause, 10. Racism towards 'so-called white' people becoming socially acceptable, 11. the left seems to support war as much as the right if not more nowadays, 12. also-forcing people to use the 'they' pronoun even when they don't believe in the concept, 13. which gets to one of the most important problems with the 'woke' movement which is that it is clearly a threat to 'freedom of speech', and I believe freedom of speech to be so extremely important.

Diversity of skin color, or ideas?? You guys give a lot of emphasis on Diversity. I prefer qualifications and work ethic. I always believed in hiring the best qualified person. Women are getting more college degrees and as a result they are accruing a lot more student debt. That concerns because eventually taxpayers will be paying this. Before you ask, I am a concerned citizen who happens to be a minority person. School is too expensive. The market is oversaturated with useless college degrees. I am sorry if that offends. I know a lot of ppl who are smart and lack a college degree. I think schools are purposely putting folks into debt.

You didn't allow comments on your "DEI is under attack" video, so I came here to tell you: DEI is under attack because it has been turned into what it supposedly fights, an excuse to keep being racist and sexist and discriminatory. You will not believe me, you will not want to hear or read this, but look around you: women and minorities get grants just for being women and minorities, because despite laws in all the western and most of the eastern world making it illegal to discriminate for any reason of gender, sex, skin color, belief, etcetera, DEI says "no, women and minorities are not good enough to compete in the world, we need to give them advantages over the majority". No woman, member of the LGTBI, or non-white person I've met and had a decent dialogue with has been okay with how DEI treats them like children and instead strive to earn their place in the world by themselves, but instead DEI fosters a constant mentality of "us, the women and minorities vs them, everyone who doesn't support DEI"...and that's before talking about how many governments have used DEI as a coat of paint to mask their corruption, bad practices, and general incompetence because "the other side are bigots! Vote us no matter what, or the n*zis will get back to power and force you all into concentration camps!" (check Australia and what they were doing during the pandemic for what these governments really do). I'm not going to come back, so don't bother answering, this paragraph is all the effort I can muster on this. Either it makes you think or it doesn't and everything else is wasted effort.

"...DEI... is attacked.." You got it wrong. I am so fed up with this woke crap. You forced it in our faces. Wokeism is a destructice device. A tool, which is used to destroy everything and to divide people. No family, no woman, no man, no sanity, no human rights. Because of total open borders nobody is safe anymore. But wokeism blames the far right and ignores that multi culti failed. Freedom of speech gone, because it might be "hate speech". It could be offensive.

Diversity-through the lenses of race, ethnicity, ability, gender, sexual orientation, neurodiversity, and beyond-can help to strengthen organizations, as studies have shown time and again. Quite simply, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) is used to describe three values that many organizations today strive to embody to help meet the needs of people from all walks of life. www.mckinsey.com/featured-insights/mckinsey-explainers/what-is-diversity-equity-and-inclusion

@@MattinglySolutions that's simply not true. Diversity is only a strength when there are diversity of thoughts and ideas which lead to breakthroughs for companies. Your sexual orientation had no bearing on it and I can guarantee that any study that would be in favour of your ideology are biased and bought for, or lack validity or credibility based on the type.

So what would you suggest for someone who wants to get into the selling racism business?

We're in the business of ending racism, so I don't know what to tell you.

@@edrosa3485 I think you have a false definition of what racism is. Here's a little education for you: A person of any race can have prejudices about people of other races, but only members of the dominant social group can exhibit racism because racism is prejudice plus the institutional power to enforce it. Racism is a system in which one race maintains supremacy over another race through a set of attitudes, behaviors, social structures, and institutional power. Racism is a “system of structured dis-equality where the goods, services, rewards, privileges, and benefits of the society are available to individuals according to their presumed membership in” particular racial groups (Barbara Love, 1994. Understanding Internalized Oppression).

@@MattinglySolutions As a person of color myself I've actually experienced it both in my military service and in civilian life. I live in a small country town and I can tell you from that lived experience that very, very few people care about the color of my skin. I enjoy the things that others that live there enjoy and when I complain about people without our small country values moving in I get head nods because I am one of them. We have shared values, which is far more important than skin color. Again as a person of color I can tell you from MY lived experience that the likelihood of the racism industry helping me or my kind is less than zero. Unless we are talking about BBQ I don't care about skin color. I care about values. Does this person share my values? Everything else is peripheral and unnecessary.

Really glad to have been able to watch and listen to you two talk about leadership and DEI and allyship. A few of the many points that stood out to me included your point, Joe, that leadership is a learnable skill and that, yes, Dr. V, inclusion is a behavioral construct that is (or isn't part) of an organization's culture. Good to know that people like you two are out there helping leaders to *learn* that DEI is not just good for people it's GOOD FOR BUSINESS!

Do you need a master's in I/O psychology to get a PhD in the same field? Or does any level of college degree and concentration can apply to PhD in I/O psychology? I ask because i do want a PhD in a I/O Psychology, not a master's. I rather have a master's in a different concentration within business 🧐
