"I was just a girl in school / When I learned unspoken rules" is so relatable to me. I don't think I'll ever get over middle school and how somehow everyone knew about those unspoken rules but me. Didn’t get the memo I guess. The girls were doing skincare, wearing make-up, doing their hair the right way, shaving, staying skinny or starving themselves to be. My males classmates bullied the ones who didn't, cf me. Even more than a decade later I still don't understand why those unspoken rules only apply to girls. If I had been a boy, no one would have cared about me not shaving or not wearing make-up. My male classmates mocked me for being fat and having acnee when they had plenty of male friends with acnee or fat. To quote an online user, "my flaws only became flaws after someone pointed them out." Even now, I still can’t look in the mirror without grimacing at the sight of my ugly face, or go out in public and not be surprised when others don't treat me like subhuman for not wearing make-up.

Since then I have trusted no one and I have secluded myself from everyone. I sit alone in my room almost all day everyday.
