Wonderful striking techniques which indeed are beyond compare! I have never seen such powerful techniques with variable or dynamic applications.

If a person stands still, sure it looks good. But in real life, kenpo is not what it seems. The same with aikido.

What if you’re attacker messes up your hair. I have practiced martial arts for 50 years. Sixty five strikes is bull shit. In the real world great hair styles and sixty defensive techniques leaves you on a slab. In the milli seconds you have in an attack your going to put thi bull shit into action ha ha.Grow up. 4th Dan wado Ryu In the real world.😊

I've used Kenpo as a Soldier & Police officer. It is very dangerous when you know what you're doing and commit to the viciousness necessary in battle that Kenpo Requires. Also altercations were avoided because even though I'm smaller than most Attackers, they can see and sense the Calm yet 'Waiting' Viciousness Waiting to be released. It's a Killing System. Don't be fooled by what you don't know.

@@ajshaw2169 yes i think Ed Parker created this art on pieces of paper and in front of mirrors only, all only in his mind. With obedient attackers that's not too hard to do

way too much emphasis on blocking in karate. best defense is good offense. this is why karate guys always get wrecked by boxers & wrestlers.

Wow: that's like a combination of several styles (Uechi Ryu, Shotokan, Japanese Jujitsu; JKD, etc), very ingenious. Always on balance; covered, and getting your full bodyweight into the motion. Of course I can't move like an expert; but I pick up what I can. THANKS! I've already watched and practiced the basic blocking and stances lessons.

@@MartyMoose1611 I give respect when it’s due. I’m sorry if I offended you. And I’m sure you believe in this stuff. I think you probably have not been exposed to a legitimate martial arts class. There are varying degrees of practicality and even some kenpo schools are ok. But my experience with Ed Parker kenpo is that it’s marketing hype with bad movement. I have run into some decent martial artists who claim it as their style, but they have trained in other disciplines and when sparring I’ve seen no kenpo. The pure kenpo guys who I’ve dealt with are speedsters with little power or technique. Their sparring is terrible.

My first Sensei was by the book JKA; but I only studied with him for one year (not long enough to be able to really use it). My second Sensei was more lenient; but more realistic (we beat each other up); then I had a jujitsu coach that taught me some great lessons; so I take what I can use from anyone. I don’t think Kempo would work for me without years of practice; but I can certainly glean some great lessons from Sensei Larry. No offense taken: we’re both comfortable with what we have.
