Not on 1 but on 2 I know this since I am Puerto Rican.

Sorry, we are not understanding your comment. We are dancing On1…. Trust me this is not On2. On2 meaning the breaks are done on second beat of the measure (in addition NYON2 is leaders breaking back… which as you can see Leaders here break forward ON1… (music has 8 beats…. The downbeat AKA 1 is our first step… Leaders forward break ON1, followers Back break ON1)

We won’t ever agree apparently. You aren’t informed that the On1 and ON2 refers to music… 🎶 to the beats we step on the music. You are mixing and confusing breaks 😐 with styles. You don’t have to believe us of course… You can do a little search and find for yourself. Here is a suggestion kzbin.info/www/bejne/sIeamJ1qmNSlsKssi=IDp2cEA-soiMvxtp Saludos!

@@Dojodance946 The Nerve to think you can school me on Salsa especially it comes from PR🇵🇷& the influence from Cuba 🇨🇺! As a former professional dancer You Definitely can’t teach me anything that comes from my island on music and dance. The problem is that White peoples think they’re so righteous in everything they depict, and have the audacity to refer me/people to go to a website created by y’all with FALSE NARRATIVE!! Work on your timing, rhythm, moves, and not everyone can actually dance Real Salsa especially in this Generation who rely on Google Alexa, Siris & Copy and Paste in professing to be educators or historians. The next thing you’re going to say:” Salsa is Colombian” 😆🤣🤣😂😂😂😭🤣You just got schooled by a professional & I don’t support the BS from this GENERATION✔️

The Real Salsa is dance in 1 not on 2. Eddie Torres was the one who changed it and old school dancers(The Real Salseros) don’t approve of it. On 2 is a correlation to the Hustle Dance from the 70’s Decade, and I know this since I am from that school. Thank you Puerto Rican & NYC Spanish Harlem 🙏🏼
@Dojodance9465 ай бұрын
That is why we teach on 1 still. We learned in Latin America way before coming to USA 🇺🇸 and we learned on1. Although we can mingle with On2 dancers we mostly teach on1. In any case, We want people to dance with each other regardless of their style. Thank you for your support.

It’s good to know both, because you will encounter both while social dancing. This is like saying that sensual bachata isn’t “real” bachata, only Dominican is. All dance styles evolve. This includes fusion styles.
@jayver52695 ай бұрын
@@jaimelefevre6794 Correction Real Bachata comes from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 not Dominican, but us PR introduced it to them in 1960 and in the early 90’s it became popular in NYC & present. The dance has many conflicting issues with both cultures because Bachata dance keeps changing and there’s actually no evidence that it came from them until they to took over with Bachata music, and we PR do recognize that. So, when discussing dance or music please do not rely on Google Alexa Siris because will be misled and there’s nothing in the USA one can trust when it comes to information from the past. Thank you Julio former Hustle & Salsa Champion in the 70’s 80’s & 90’s🙏🏼

Thanks for sharing this. I hope you don't mind a little feedback...? You lose me on the turns. I find it easier to follow you as a mirror image of the video, but that falls apart when you say to pivot on the left, and it's my right, and if my back is turned to the screen, I get lost. I'm so used to mirror imaging from Zumba classes when the teacher faces the students that I don't know how NOT to do it, unless the teacher uses an actual mirror. Am I the only one?
@Dojodance9464 жыл бұрын
Thank you so very much! I appreciate the feedback of course. We are seeing what works for most of you so yes your comment is welcome! We have part two where you will see it different. We are publishing part two where you see the rest and can help!

I went back trying to see what you see: what I say is STEP PIVOT STEP on the right turn. And the mirror position it’s no here on this video... that is part 2, that we didn’t publish. Will keep working on this! Thank you !

@@Dojodance946 Thanks. I watched the first two turns again so I can explain my confusion. In the first turn the left foot steps forward on the "1" count, and in the second style of turn "1" is on the right foot, but both times your body turns over the right shoulder (clockwise). Do you call it a left turn if your left foot steps on "1" even if your body revolves to the right?
