Wonderful interview--thank you. And I agree that drugs have really decreased my interest in the sport as a spectator.

In that race of 83, Bill Rodgers took 10th place in spite of the latter carees as athlete. People around the finish line, gave him big hands of aplause. great.

Fabulous discussion on the subject. Good to look back and review history and in comparison to today. Chris Bunyan was a Southampton club colleague of mine. Albeit much a much better athlete. Thank you.

Now Molly has the Olympic Marathon Bronze Metal. It was so great watching Molly running with the best and winning the Bronze Metal.

What a fascinating discussion from two truly notable people. I had the opportunity to see Bill Rodgers win the New York City Marathon in 1978 and 1979 inside Central Park, and run in Montreal in 1979, as well, as a young kid. After the Orange Classic 10K in Middletown, NY in 1981 (I was able to stay with Bill for all of 600 meters) he remained with the crowd and signed autographs and chatted for hours. I recall him chanting "Grete! Grete!" referring to Grete Waitz while speaking with one runner afterwards. Conversely, Frank Shorter - who won that day - complained about signing too many autographs, claiming that it would cheapen the value of his signature. Go figure. I still have the autograph that Bill signed for me (on a Runner magazine page) that day. And Tony Reavis' announcing, with that deep intelligent baritone, is forever married in my mind to marathons past. Thank you for this experience.

What a beautiful interview. Thank you, Aliphine. Thank you, Molly. Thank you, Sally. It was a joy to cheer you to the finish line at the trials (and hand you an American Flag at the 800m mark). Looking forward to cheering for you at the Tokyo 2021 Summer Olympic Games.

Thank you, Galen. Thank you, Jake. Thank you, Abdi. And... thank you, Jay and Atlanta Track Club. Look forward to cheering for Galen, Jake, and Abdi in 2021, and handing each a United States of America flag 800m (preferably less) from the Finish Line.
