Hey buddy, what you're describing is merely widescreen, not anamorphic. Not trying to bash you, but anamorphic is indeed widescreen but there is MUCH more to it than just that and "faking" it needs much more than just to squeeze your footage in two "black rechtangles". What is missing to get a true anamorphic look: - anamorphic compression (a wider than 35mm film field of view/almost a medium format kind of compression) - distorsion and a very unique circular blur to the out of focus bits of the frame - oval shaped bokeh balls This is one of the hardest things to fake in video (especially the oval bokeh balls) and as said above, it is not enought to but a letter box into your footage, because this is only widescreen and nothing more, and also it is only fake widescreen, bercause true widescreen actually has a 21:9 aspect ratio which then is fully displayed on a wide screen monitor - the you do it here will not only put a letter box to the top and bottom but also will cause to have an actual letter box to the left and the right on a wide screen monitor, meaning, you're image is going to be displayed as a much smaller rechtangle on such a screen, wasting about 2/3s of the monitor's real estate. So in any case, this is not a recommended workflow to fake anything.

I used to be able to use the Magic Eraser to delete anything that I wanted, like the \background. I have a jpg of a burger on a totally white background but the ME will not remove that background and leave me with no color but the transparency grid. Has this process been updated from something simple like that process to what you're doing here? The "Select Subject - Remove Background" box does not appear at the bottom of my screen. How do I get it to show up?
